David Bowie, John Lennon and Carlos Alomar (who played guitar on 11 David Bowie albums, 1975-2003) wrote Fame and Lennon sings backing vocals on the track. Here is Duran Duran's version of Fame. It was the B-side of their 1981 single Careless Memories and was included on the 1997 compilation album The David Bowie Songbook:

Larry Weiss wrote and recorded Rhinestone Cowboy. It was released as a single in March 1974 and reached #24 on the Adult Contemporary chart but never made the Hot 100. Glen Campbell's remake was number one on the country chart for three weeks in August-September 1975 and also went to number one on the Hot 100 and the Adult Contemporary chart. Here is the original. (Weiss also co-wrote Jerry Butler's Mr. Dream Merchant, the Animals' Help Me Girl and the American Breed's Bend Me, Shape Me.) I think Larry is trying too hard to sound like Neil Diamond.
