I, too, prefer a mix of names. The DeathList website just posted its annual list of celebrities who might die during the year. Dick Van Dyke tops the list. Three people on the list are 100 or older. The youngest on the list is Duran Duran guitarist Andy Taylor, 63.

Maybe they looked at pictures of him and assumed he was already dead.

I read your post and we will stick to the usual format. I'll setup the tournament this week and and if any major celebrities gets eliminated in the 1st or 2nd round they will come back in the 2nd chance.

I bet this would be an interesting match and conversation?

How did we overlook Alabama vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist/fiddle player Jeff Cook? He died November 7 2022 of Parkinson's disease. Alabama had 80 country hits (including duets), 1977-2011. Sixty-six made the top 40, 52 made the top ten and 33 went to number one. Among their biggest hits are Tennessee River, Why Lady Why, Old Flame, Love In The First Degree, Mountain Music, Dixieland Delight, Down Home, High Cotton, Take Me Down, Jukebox In My Mind, Song Of The South, The Closer You Get, Forty Hour Week, If You're Gonna Play In Texas and I'm In A Hurry & Don't Know Why.

I'd like to know what caused you to just notice this, and then pore over this thread to see that this person was missing.

I was watching one of my favorite videos, Old Alabama, a 2011 number-one country hit by Brad Paisley and Alabama. The video, which includes Jeff Gordon, makes it look as though Paisley was a member of Alabama in the 1980s-90s. In the comments, someone lamented the death of Jeff Cook. I didn't know he had died. Ergo – that's Latin – I knew neither I nor anyone else had posted the news of his death.
