On this valentines day, I'm going to my weekly band practice tonight. But Mrs. Scotch is going to see Brandi Carlile at the Music Hall in Portsmouth. Last night, a friend - who was planning to go - came down with covid, so she offered her ticket. At first, we thought she had 2, but it's just 1 ticket. So the Mrs. is going, and I'm not.

That's ok. If it was the other way around it would not be of course. You would be accused of trashing Valentine's Day.

I usually get alerts of new concerts coming to my city.

I saw that Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band going on tour. I like some of his music, but it's probably going to be a pass for me.
I know some legends are also coming like Janet Jackson and Madonna, my partner and I going to pass them up.
Another artist we both like is Lizzo, but my partner isn't interested. Plus we already have enough concerts going on. But I may be tempted?

One concert totally got past my radar and I have never seen these bands, Skillet and Theory of A Deadman. Just snag another concert tix. Plus I been working on a new spreadsheet of what artists/bands, the opening acts, date and locations, I have seen through out my life. I do have a ticket album of tons of shows, I have seen. But the photo album is falling apart, so I'm manlily typing these shows in.

Here is every show I've ever been to (minus one I can't find and don't remember the date of)

Looks interesting, I just checked out your link. The nice part it does go back to 90’s. That’s what I recall when I started going to concerts.

Never heard of songkick and I see the app it lets get alerts for up and coming tours. Connect to Apple Music and Facebook, I’m been trying to get into Spotify. But I mainly use Apple. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm not much of a Springsteen fan, but I'd always heard he puts on a great show, so when I had a chance to see him play at Wrigley field, I went.
He doesn't just put on a great show, he puts on a really fuggin great show. He really is a legend and worth seeing if you can.

I originally said, I’ll probably pass. But then it’s not often to watch one of the original legends. I might be interested in seeing the boss. I’ll probably have to go by myself. My partner thinks I’m wasting too much money on concert tickets. I told him, all my cards are pretty much paid off but one. I will have that card payed off in couple of months. Plus he mentions he doesn’t care what I use for with my money within reason.

Quick update, I downloaded that songkick app and linked it to my Apple Music library and up and coming concerts.

Damn, I didn’t realize certain artists that I enjoy listening to are performing at smaller venues. That’s a bit of a problem. These are places, I don’t get notifications from and now bit of a decision. Do I spend the money to see them or not?

Like there is a bike week and Billy Idol, Megadeath and Stain are preforming there. Another band I love listening to Train and they are preforming at an ostrich festival.

Damn you sadchild, you are gonna get me in trouble with this app. One question I haven’t figured out yet. How do I enter past concerts that already happen.

I saw him twice. The first time in Toronto in spring 2000. I was going to go with my soon to be wife but she was having immigration issues and could not cross the border so I went on my own. We got tickets to see him at Giants Stadium in the Meadowlands in 2003. The 9th/10th show that summer there. He was even better there (an extra hour of material for the home town crowd.

He has announced Toronto dates on the new tour. Unfortunately his tour is using the 'flexible pricing' model of Ticketmaster. While Toronto ticket prices have not yet been announced, I had looked at venues like Buffalo and Rochester earlier and his tickets were insanely expensive. I don;t want to drop a couple thousand to see him. Also he is 20 years older than he was the last time we saw him. And Clarence Clemons is no longer alive.

Billy Idol, Megadeth and Staind
Bet that's gonna be a good show. As long as Staind doesn't play "It's Been Awhile" and Idol doesn't play "To Be A Lover" =)

Click that "Add an event" and you're good.

Unless it's a protected artist (some artists are locked down). If that's the case, email support@songkick.com and tell them you'd like a show added (and give them all the details).

Here's an example of me doing that:

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the heads up! We’ve gone ahead and added that event for you now.

I won’t spend that much on a show no matter how good the band is. It’s completely stupid and I can’t support that kind of abuse of fans.

Wolf, I’d say that if there are bands that you like better than Bruce that you can see at smaller, less expensive venues, I’d go to those shows instead. Smaller club shows are great for connecting with the band.

Idol is great in concert. He’s still got it.
I still like it, but I don’t think they always play To Be A Lover.
Originally when we bought our Journey tickets, Billy Idol was the opening band. Then he had ear infection issues and it became Anne Wilson then when the concert got postponed again it became Toto.

One more addition at my son's request: Guns 'N' Roses. Gotta remember the ear plugs for this one as it will be loud.

Upcoming Shows:

2023:
  • Irish Rovers [03/10 Casino Rama, Orillia, ON]
  • Journey w/Toto [03/12 Scotiabank Arena, Toronto, ON]
  • Foreigner with Loverboy [07/25 Budweiser Stage, Toronto, ON]
  • Fall Out Boy [07/30 Budweiser Stage, Toronto, ON]
  • Guns 'N' Roses [09/03 Rogers Centre, Toronto, ON]
