Btw, some of the early part of the movie is not time-stamped, because I cropped the images. About 2 days into the construction, they moved a trailer right in front of the camera. You can see where I relocated the camera.

The back porch walls are up, but most of the work going on is the studding of interior walls. We now have framing for the mudroom hall (from the garage), guest half-bath, laundry, foyer coat closet, master bath (including shower), his-and-hers master closets, and master bedroom.

Yeah, I've realized that this thread is actually the best and most easily accessible documentation of the build.

That being said, the pages of wisecracks, side-topics, and non-sequitur's make navigation a bit trying.

Nearly 100% of roofs down here are this Spanish tile.

I think it's because they are good in the heat the the weight takes more effort for them to blow off in a storm.

Ahhhh, cool.

The 3/4" rib with the lap joint threw me off.
Metal roofs are good stuff. It's a nice touch for your house.

The nicer metal roofs are standing-seam, at a much higher cost. This one does the job. The material is more expensive than asphalt shingles, but installation is easier. No mold or ice-damns, ever. And it goes with the "barn" look.

The closest thing we have up here are slate roofs, which are for mansions only, due to the cost.
