I thought they already went up to $18 for the standard ad-free service, so I don't know. But anyway, we had it paused for about 6 months, and then we wanted to watch the new season of The Lincoln Lawyer. But that's over. And looking at our viewing history, we also watched The Beast In Me (good) and Ripple (not so good). So maybe it's time to pause it again.

I go on a freaking rant in the beginning of this call and those are my current feelings about cord cutting.

Is the music for those by Vince Guaraldi?
I got the Happy Anniversary Charlie Brown CD back around 1990 or so. It was a good jazz disk. I used to listen to it all the time.
I won't link but there is a cute Snoopy Jazz video on the You Tube where Snoopy is riding his bike in the countryside. A regular bike not an E-bike

I received my price hike notice memo today on April Fool's Day. If I do one movie per week, it will be worth it plus the hot tv show and sporting event. I couldn't get back into WWE. I tried but not the same anymore. Maybe I'll go back to the commercial plan with Hulu. Maybe joining Disney they won't have such long commercial breaks.

I watched my first game of Apple Friday Night Baseball tonight. Braves vs D Backs. I love my Apple Friday Night Baseball. I don't care who's playing as long as I can catch an inning or two. The Braves hit back to back home runs in the 9th to win 2-0

Plus good preview of "Your Friends and Neighbors" 2nd season. So far I've seen 2 episodes of Season 1

Some of the latest Snoopy Jazz videos include
Snoopy and Charlie Brown on a Farm sipping coffee at the table while the chickens and cows come over to watch them sipping coffee
Snoopy in the rain with his umbrella walking through the city then walking through the country followed by the geese

My Friday Night Baseball game on Apple TV had San Francisco and Baltimore. During my two innings, San Francisco had a home run (Willie Adonis).
This is my second week in a row that I've seen a home run during my two innings.

Now that I have Disney Plus, I think the app is pretty clunky. I was able to go to the Hulu App to access ESPN for my college hockey. When I tried to watch the replay accessing through Disney Plus, the game kept freezing. The menu seems very small to read. I will be using the Hulu App as long as I can

You'll need to explain this.
Oh I cannot watch an entire baseball game. That's too long. So I try to watch a few innings each Friday. That gives me a chance to see the team uniforms, the stadium and a shot of the crowd and the city. And to find out what is going on with Apple TV. Episode 4 of "Imperfect Women" actually has Kate Mara in it. It was about time. I'm also going to watch "The Outcome" tonight too.

Baseball on TV is tough to watch.
I'm good with games sitting in the stands. There's enough going on, food, beer, sunshine, and whatnot. It's sooo much better.

In 2023, MLB introduced the pitch clock to speed up the game. The pitcher has 15 seconds to begin his motion, or 18 to 20 seconds if there are runners on base. If he fails to throw in time, a ball is declared. If the batter is not ready, a strike is declared. Average length of games has dropped dramatically.

Guys at work know I’m a Yankees fan so they try to make small talk about baseball and I’m clueless. I tune around the time the AL and NL championship series begin (no matter who is playing).
Baseball is fun at the ballpark though.

Yes, watching live at the ballpark is different. I don't even watch a whole game on TV for my beloved Cactus League.
I saw one whole Brewers game last year when we went to Peanuts Night. But we were in the one of those suites, so it was distracting. Then I saw the Madison Mallards and watched the whole game. We also stayed for the fireworks.

Friday Night Baseball
Apple TV: I saw the Friday Night Apple TV introduction for the first time ever. Game #1 Rays and Pirates. Pittsburgh has a beautiful view of the river and city by the stadium. Game #2 Tigers and Red Sox. Saw the Boston sunset. Still can't get over Red Sox wearing green uniforms.

ESPN through Hulu: ESPN has baseball: Astros and Cardinals currently watching. Haven't seen any home runs this week in any of the games but moving on soon.

Paramount Plus
I watched "Rainmaker" Matt Damon, Claire Danes, this week. Wife watched too she had never seen the movie before. Trying to catch up on "Tulsa King" after watching first season. Good Senior Tough Guy show with Slyvester Stallone

Library
DVD's/Audio Books checked out this month
"The Other Women" Natalie Portman
"Last Days of Disco" Kate Beckinsale watched on a Saturday night
"Major League" Wife watched too she had never seen before
"The Oh in Ohio" Parker Posey, classic Parker Posey humor

We've had the Hulu+Live TV package for our "cable", but have realized that we hardly watch anything from it anymore. I don't even know the last time I watched a network TV show - it's been years. And we don't really watch much of anything on cable channels either. So we decided to shave the Live TV portion of the subscription off, leaving just the Hulu & Disney+ part of it active. When basketball season comes around, I'll probably subscribe to the ESPN package to see my Jayhawks, then bail when the season's over. Our bill will go from $90 to $13.

We're pretty much done with network TV shows, except Jeopardy and local programming. And we watch a handful of cable channels. Probably 75% of the live TV programming available to us gets skipped. We sometimes catch SNL, but mostly the replays, which we can see elsewhere.

Today I spent some of the $$$ I saved above by subscribing to Night Flight Plus. They have a promo going now where you can get a year for $36.

Snoopy Jazz
More Snoopy Jazz videos during Jazz Appreciation Month
Video #1: Rainy Day Cafe: Snoopy in a Coffeehouse, watching the rainy day through the window, sipping coffee, then grabs and plays the saxophone
Video #2: Snoopy on a countryside farm, stream with birds, Snoopy sits under tree then takes a snooze, watches the sunset and watches the horses (A+)
Video #3: Snoopy wants to go on a European vacation but has no money. Gets a paper route
Video #4: Snoopy needs money part 2. Starts a car wash

Friday Night Baseball
Apple TV had Philles vs Braves. I have been to Braves stadium before the year they won the world series. I remember the big cow for Chick Fil A. It looked small on the TV but it is big. I kept wondering if a player was able to homer and hit that cow in the snout. It would have been nice to see that tonight.
Then the other game was the Cubs vs Dodgers. I wanted to see the start since the Dodgers are the World Champs. They showed the "Dragnet" building in the background, it appears to be away from all the other skyscrapers. Then I didn't know or didn't remember that Amanda Peete and Olivia Munn are in "Your Friends and Neighbors". I did not see any home runs tonight, but the Philles Brandon Marsh has one big beard.

ESPN did not have a MLB game tonight so I watched the end of LSU/Miss St. It was tied at the end of the ninth inning. I watched on my phone.

So far in my Friday NIght Streaming Home Run Derby, I've seen 3 Home Runs on Apple TV while I've seen 1 Home Run on ESPN

Library: I tried to find that Diane Lane movie "Under the Tuscany Sun" but they did not have it.

Paramount Plus: I'm currently watching "Beautiful Girls" Mira Sorvino, Lauren Holly, Uma Thurman, Matt Dillion and a young Natalie Portman. I have not seen this movie in years. I always thought they would follow up with a "Beautiful Girls 2" with a continuation of the Natalie Portman/Timothy Hutton story

Funny Note today: I had some time between activities and turned on SXM 60's Gold on my Smart TV. They were playing The Tremoloes "Silence Is Golden",
then Simon and Garfunkel "Sounds of Silence" except the sound wasn't working on my TV. I tried another channel but no sound so I had to turn the TV off to get the sound back.

It is nice to post here, sometimes the day goes by and I feel like I haven't gotten much done. Then I post my activities here and realize I've done a lot afterall.

Silence Is Golden, written by Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio, was a number-one British hit and #11 U.S. hit for the Tremeloes in August 1967. Here is the original version by the Four Seasons, released in 1964 as the B-side of Rag Doll (which was also written by Crewe and Gaudio). I prefer the Tremeloes' version. Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Nick Massi and Nick DeVito all sound as though they're half-asleep.
