The 5 guys fries here have always been crispy and delicious.
Our franchise owner follows the rules and cooks them consistently.

If in and out can't bring their lazy asses here, they know they can't handle the heat. They can suck it.

"Shake Shack, Wendy’s and Culver’s rounded out the top five."

wendy's making the list makes the whole thing suspect. wendy's is fine but i'd never consider it for the best of anything. also, i've never heard of culver's. looked it up and it turns out there is one somewhat close to me. like 40 miles away.

The fact that this thread has gotten more activity in the past day, than any other thread has for months, says a lot about the priorities of you DRCers.

As for me, when the wife and I are out-and-about, we may occasionally get fast food in a pinch. But more often, if we're in a situation where we'll be eating out, we elect for a nice local restaurant. We cook at home 5 days a week, so when we go out, we want a decent experience.

Does that mean that the 5 meals at home aren't decent? :D

During the week when we don't cook at home, we're usually just looking for something quick.
Weekends, when we don't cook, we try to hit nicer locally owned restaurants.

The meals at home are fantastic, because my wife learned from the generations of family before her (I can grill, that's it). Because of that, she and her parents (and their parents) aren't into fast food. And since she does all the cooking, and planning, and food shopping etc, she deserves something good when she goes out. We have dinner out only once a week, and sometimes lunch or (rarely) breakfast. One night a week we have leftovers.

We rarely cook at home. I made grilled cheese this week and it was an event.

I eat lunch out every day. Evenings it's often a can of soup or some meat, cheese and crackers. Weekends we eat out.

after seeing this thread today and last night i decided to go to 5 guys for lunch today. good as always but i got mustard on my burger and it was a mistake. that flavor overpowers everything else. i learned a valuable 5 guys lesson and will not repeat this mistake.

I'm traveling again this week, so it's going to be a lot of restaurants. Hopefully very few fast foods.

So far, the closest thing has been a Panera. The rest has been local places.
I've been spending a lot of this time with Irish/Canadians that live in Boston.......It's been a while since I've had this much to drink.

It's low on my list, but we weren't in a good spot for a quick breakfast with coffee.
Sometimes ya gotta rough it when ya travel.

Panera seems like a good original idea that was ruined by expansion. When they opened one near me, I made an online order, but when I went to pick it up, I had to wait in the regular drive-through line. Then I found out they never made my order, because they were out of pita bread! Wtf? What I ended up getting was tiny and overpriced.
