That’s cool to see. It’s amazing that the whole thing didn’t collapse. I’m glad that they are restoring it to the way that it was, and not modernizing the appearance. They are stupid if they don’t put in a sprinkler system this time.

Just like the ones they had back in 1700?

I heard on some podcast that they're cutting down like a zillion trees to fix the roof and spire.

The William Randolph Hearst estate in Beverly Hills was listed for $195,000,000 in 2016. Two years later the price was lowered to $135,000,000. Last year it was lowered to $125,000,000. Now it's down to $89,750,000. I wonder how long we might have to wait before the asking price is down to $100.

I don't think I've ever seen a full episode of The Beverly Hillbillies but that is one of the greatest opening title songs of all time.

The Beverly Hillbillies theme song was written by Paul Henning, who created the series and wrote or co-wrote more than 200 episodes.. The recording by Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs spent three weeks at number one on the Billboard country chart in early 1963 and went to #44 on the Hot 100. Surprisingly, it reached #14 on the adult contemporary chart. Here is the Chartwell Mansion, which served as the Clampetts' home in the TV series. Well, doggies!

Sometimes, for fun, I just look at the most expensive real estate listings in various places. I saw this one in Manhattan, and it's just insane.

Here are some of the floors

I assume the pool is not actually in the penthouse.

I can't decide if it's fantastic, or a disgusting representation of the wealth of a few.

That middle picture looks almost like an M.C. Escher drawing! Here is one of the prominent works of architecture in my home town of Glendale, California – and in Glendale, "prominent" isn't saying much. This is one of hundreds of bank buildings designed by Peruvian-born architect Wenceslao Alfonso Sarmiento, who studied under Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer.

Until I saw what building it was in and what part of it, it made zero sense. Now it makes sense, but it could have been better.

The views are spectacular though!

He should have kept studying. Neimeyer did some really cool stuff.
