HecticArt Wonderful Architecture Work

I think I'm in Hell. I think I may have died and don't know it yet and this is the beginning of Hell. I'm not sure if I'm even writing this for real or it's simply an illusion Hell has placed into whatever sort of understanding I may have once the life left my body.

I just watched both of these in a row and enjoyed them:





And Despite my hatred for architects, I have always liked Frank Lloyd Wright cause he was more an Imagineer than a dirty you know what. But why would I watch and enjoy the second video?

This must be how the Devil confuses you upon the initial arrival in Hell.

I needed it to catch your attention.

And as far as I'm concerned everyone in Toledo is an architect of like pedestrian bridges or whatever it is you told us you were working on that one time so I assumed the audience was all people from your office and competing offices taking a break to see some live comedy.

There is a whole new generation of comics that I love as stand-ups and Akaash Singh is easily in my top 5. His crowd work is top notch.

We spent the weekend in Long Island, NY (lun-GUY-lend), at a family event. We stayed with our cousins who also have the vacation compound in Vermont. He works in the city, so on Saturday, we were treated to a mini driving tour of the lower end of Manhattan. We started at Chelsea Market in Greenwich Village, once the meat-packing district, and now home to trendy shops. Then we headed to the Flatiron District, which was the starting point of our sightseeing walk.

We walked the High Line, an elevated park that goes along the old freight train line.

We came across various neat buildings

The park heads towards the futuristic buildings of Hudson Yard, with that crazy observation deck.

We ended at The Vessel, which we paid to walk up.

I also saw the giant pigeon

and this guy was playing "Something About You" by Level 42 on xylophone.

It was great having our cousins show us around. I'd never just drive around Manhattan on my own.
 
By the way, the predominant architecture in the town where my cousin lives is synagogues. There are about 24 mostly orthodox Jewish synagogues, schools, or other places of gathering and worship, just in his town and nearby area.

Whereas I have to be on the lookout for deer when driving around my area, he has to watch for families walking to and from temple.

I have a moslem temple near my apartment building. It appears that people coming out of any temple are blinded by the glory of God and don't see the approaching traffic when they saunter onto a busy street so yes, he would have to watch for them as do I.

That building looks like it is about to snap in the middle. And would the people on the top not have slanted floors?
 
That's designed by SHoP Architects. There's a sky bridge with a swimming pool in it that connects the two towers.
The exterior walls slope, but obviously, the floors are level.

Sculpturally, I suppose that it's interesting, but stuff like that is pretty gimmicky to me.
It's like a one-liner joke. It's cute at first, but the punch-line grows pretty old after you've heard it a few times.
