Back to history....We are all aware of this but let's just take a moment to think about how fucked up yet also kind of funny this is.....

And I'm randomly talking about this because I was watching JFK's speech where he talks about going to the moon and it got me thinking about the 60's.

J Edgar Hoover was the face of the FBI. I mean he joined it like in the twenties. I think it was established in the single digits. He became the dude that made that shit known to all Americans that if you fuck around enough they're going to come after you.

Meanwhile, that same guy was dressing up in ladies clothing and thinking about ways to frame Martin Luther King.

You think that like while he was putting on pantyhose or whatever he was also coming up with the plan to have the FBI send him that letter saying he should kill himself?.

I mean that shit is so ridiculous it's kind of funny, right? It made me laugh just now.

I need to learn so much more about WWI.

I know the basics about how it started (which is ridiculous with the Arch Duke and that international disaster) and trench warfare and chemical warfare and all that.

But I am woefully ignorant on many of the details.......For instance:

Do you all know about the Gallipoli Campaign?

I literally learned about it today.

It was a battle in Turkey looking to knock the Ottomans out but it didn't work. The Brits wanted to control some strait but the initial attack didn't work.....then it became trench warfare and no one was gaining ground. So after a year the Brits decided it wasn't worth it cause they lost like 150k men. But they killed like 300k Turks or Ottomans, whatever they were at the time.

Anyway, even with killing double their men they gained no ground and retreated after a year of hell.

Fuck dude, I need to read up on WWI way more.

I need to learn about the shit that happened before we were involved. Our biggest battles were nowhere near the length of Gallipoli or Verdun or Somme.

This is amazing. When I was thinking about what church to go back to I came across some Mormon stuff (like some new Reform Jew type of Mormonism) and now I get this girl in my Youtube feed. She is an ex-Mormon and her videos are too long but great. So her shorts are perfect.

Anyway I'm not putting this in the Christian thread cause I wanted to bump this one and it falls under both.

It's so funny how a literary genius all the way back in 1861 was still just a grown boy making jokes about fat, ugly chicks.

So I used to text Pam every morning "Morning sexy lady" Then she figured out that I had done that to others before her cause the woman is somehow freaking a hot version of Dick Tracy. So I altered it to "Morning sexy teacher" and she seems cool with that. Also for the longest time she never edited her Spotify name so I knew her as 128620430 when we would share songs. So I know Pam as that number.

Also I bore her with history stories all the time. Recently it's been WWII stuff but it's been all sorts of stuff.

So today she told me she liked this penny necklace. Since pennies are going away it would be cool to have in her birth year. So I got it for her and I'll maybe surprise her with it if she doesn't read this.

But it lets you engrave the back so to be silly with my dumb history I am having it engraved with:

That's morse code for Sexy Teacher and then the Spotify code for Pam. So now everytime she sees it and remembers how sweet I am she will also have to think about history stuff. Boom!

I'm gonna get this girl to dig history with me. In a couple years she'll be watching Ken Burns with me and enjoying it as much as I.
