IdRatherBeSkiing's Top 20 (Sunday, June 21st, 2020 version)

A break from my **** list today to give a top 10 list. I am jumping on the same band wagon as others have this past couple of days: The Beatles. While I don't hold them in the same reverence as others on here I have enough songs I like that are *** or better to make a top 10 list. I can't tell you which original album these came off in the most part. I think I downloaded or borrowed a greatest hits CD of some sort for most of these.

10. I Want To Hold Your Hand ***
9. We Can Work It Out ***
8. A Hard Day's Night ***
7. The Long And Winding Road ***
6. Come Together ***
5. Yesterday ***
4. Hey Jude ***
3. Here Comes the Sun ****
2. Twist and Shout ***** (#414 on my 436)
1, Let It Be ***** (#310 on my 436)

Listening to the radio today they played "Revolution" by the Beatles. I didn't recall it in my top 10. And it wasn't because I guess it never hit #1 so was not on my Beatles CDs which only had #1s. So put that at #6 and shuffle everything else down one.

More ****

St. Elmo's Fire - John Parr
Theme for the movie but written for Rick Hansen and his "Man In Motion" tour. He was a paraplegic who rode his wheelchair around the world to raise awareness for people with disabilities.

Stacy's Mom - Fountains of Wayne
This may be *****.

Stand By Me - Ben E. King

Step By Step - Eddie Rabbit

Today's ****

First 2 songs with the same name but different songs by different artists.

Teacher, Teacher - Rockpile

Teacher, Teacher - .38 Special

Teenage Dirtbag - Wheatus

Tenderness - General Public

Thank God I'm a Country Boy - John Denver

"We're not just another Southern rock band. We've been working at escaping that categorization. There's a difference between a Southern rock band and a band from the South."

If readers are unable to make that distinction, Barnes, the band's busiest songwriter and most recognizable voice, put it another way: "You can't sing about whiskey and alligators forever.

Today's ****

Thank You For Being a Friend - Andrew Gold
I liked it more before it became the theme to "The Golden Girls".

That's Amore - Dean Martin
"When the moon hit's your eye like a big pizza pie ...."

That's the Way (I Like It) - KC and the Sunshine Band

That's Where I Went Wrong - The Poppy Family
My parents had a Susan Jacks 8-track that they listened to a lot. I realized years later that she was a part of The Poppy Family.

Today's ****

Theme From "The Dukes of Hazzard" - Waylon Jennings
Here is how it was used in the show:

Here is the single release. The difference is the last verse.
"I'm a good ol' boy
My mama loves me
But she don't understand
They keep showing my hands
And not my face on TV"

These Old Bones - Dolly Parton
I heard this on "Kids Place Live" at one point. Discovered it was a real song.

Thing of Beauty - Hothouse Flowers

Thirty-Three - The Smashing Pumpkins

To Be Continued since I added an extra video ....

Today's ****

Those Shoes - Eagles

Thunder Road - Bruce Springsteen

The Thunder Rolls - Garth Brooks
The last verse in the live version puts a different spin on the story.

The Time of Day - Gino Vannelli

Time Out of Mind - Steely Dan
