For me I heard this one first. The group was from Regina, SK so got a lot of airplay. For me the Stones version sounds funky (although I know it is the original). According to what I heard on Regina radio, Mick himself liked the remake.
 
Today a top 10 by Meat Loaf. A shout out to Jim Steinman whowrote all these songs. All songs from Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell albums (I & II). I note which are from II in brackets.

I love Jim Steinman's version of this song which he released in 1981. I like the Meat Loaf version too but without Jim's version, this song would not be on this list.
