First time hearing. I like it. Does First wave ever play it? I think they should.

They may. They are of course a Canadian band so may not have made too big a splash in the States.

[sadchild]

Yeah I looked at their Wiki page, no mention of a US charting song, but loads in Canada. Never hoid of 'em (til today)

[HecticArt]

I have never heard that Ordinary People either. I like it too.

[IdRatherBeSkiing]

This thread kind of got derailed by covid. I'm better now so back to my ****.

Peaceful Easy Feeling - Eagles

Piano Man - Billy Joel

Pinball Wizard - Elton John

Pinball Wizard - The Who

Pinch Me - Barenaked Ladies
Love the lyric "I made you say underwear".

[IdRatherBeSkiing]

Not sure if I have ever posted this. But Dan Fogelberg Top 6. If I have I think the order will be different. Longer got promoted to my 433.

6. Only The Heart May Know
5. Hard To Say
4. Run For The Roses
3. Same Old Lang Syne
2. Longer
1. Leader Of The Band

[Aaron]

I like Fogelberg. We have his greatest hits CD, which is like 10 songs and I like them all.

I bought the CD Phoenix, back in the day.

Pretty in Pink - The Psychedelic Furs

Psycho Killer - Talking Heads

Put Your Hand In the Hand - Ocean

Queen of the Night - Stonebolt

Precious Declaration - Collective Soul

Whoa forgot this song existed, thanks!

Put Your Hand In the Hand - Ocean

The only time I'd heard this song before today was KEXP's dissection of Paul's Boutique where they play every song that was sampled. This one is the beat for "Looking Down The Barrel Of A Gun".

Queen of the Night - Stonebolt

First time hearing.

More ****

Radar Love - Golden Earring

Radio Head - Talking Heads

Radio Song - R.E.M.

Rain on the Scarecrow - John Mellencamp

The 5th entry is "Rasputin" by Boney M without "Nightflight to Venus". I will exclude it since the combined entry was already in the 424.

[Channel98]

On the subject of male singers who sound like women, my sister told me one day in 1974 she heard a new song that she liked but she didn't know the name of the woman who sang it. She told me the title. I told her who sang it. It was not a woman.

[HecticArt]

I always thought that was Anne Murray...... Oops.
Were we on hat subject?

As long as we are, what about Danke Schoen? I had that one wrong for decades.

[sadchild]

Starting a separate thread about songs where ya misidentified the singer's gender. For posterity.

Yesterday's ****

Rated X - Pat Benatar
This was the first song of hers I heard. I think it was only released in Canada or not in USA. Song written by Nick Guilder (Canadian) so would have counted as CANCON. Never hear it anymore. I also think I should have considered Pat Benatar in my top 25 artists.

Redneck Woman - Gretchen Wilson
A contribution to my music library from my wife.

Reelin' In the Years - Steely Dan

Refugee - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers

Remedy - The Black Crowes
