Thank you. My sister told me two weeks ago to start "preparing" myself for my mom's death. I don't think there's really a way to do that. At least my mom went peacefully. She was not in any pain.

Sorry 98. My parents went early, but my mother-in-law is almost 90. Yet it'll still be very hard on Mrs. Scotch when she goes. Condolences.

I can sympathize definitely. February, 3 weeks after my birthday, we lost my dad to Alzheimer's complications, and then my mom died of a stroke in June (her funeral is today). Have been dreading losing one parent over time, two in 3.5 months is a little much. Considering I'm now the man of the family and trying to get everything squared with their old debts, and probate on the house they purchased in '16 which we'll likely have to sell since no will and no life insurance. And I miss both dearly.

Hang in there Jon. It's been about 14 years since my parents passed. It gets easier, but you'll still miss them often.

That's a lot to deal with. I'm hoping for the best outcome for you.

Condolences to everyone who's lost someone recently. It's always such a hard, weird time. Hope you all get thru it as smoothly as can be expected.

Thanks everyone, the funeral went well. And buried next to my dad. One of those things where I always called them on the phone or reached out in person, and now that won’t happen. It’ll be an adjustment but I’m managing so far. Now have to get all the probate business out of the way.

So sorry channel. It seems like she lived a good life, but that doesn't make the pain any lesser. My condolences.

Hendrik was also born in 1927. Good year for parents to be born apparently.

God knows I'm not going to make it that long.
Nobody in my family seems to make it out of their 70's.
That's OK. It's about when I expect my retirement fund to run out anyway.

My dad is going strong at 88. Aside from his older sister @ 96, he is the only one of his 12 siblings to make it past 83.

Proof we're not related.
My parents, their fathers, and my uncle never got through their 50's. My grandmothers might have made 60's.
How old does your mailman's family live to?
3 of my grandparents made it past 90 (one still alive) and the 4th passed away at 80 due to cancer.
If I feel like this in my 50's, I don't want to make it to my 90's.

My family generally lives pretty long into their 70s and 80s as long as they don’t screw out up themselves. Only my uncle died in his 50’s but he was a raging alcoholic who worked at a bar and lived next door.
