I was picturing volume as always some sort of container that had space to hold some other element. And volume being the amount of the secondary element that could fit.


I now know that volume is just the amount of space an object uses.

So that's what it has to do with volume me like figuring out basic mathematics.

Also this all started with talk about the metric system and Celsius and Fahrenheit. So still kind of ties into international news I guess.

so Celsius/Fahrenheit are related to a reason to know the volume of something.
By knowing the volume of a space (and other details) you can figure out how bog of a furnace or air conditioner you need and how much it will cost to heat and cool for the year. It'll also tell you how big the gas pipe needs to be to fuel the furnace and how big the ducts need to be to move the air where it needs to go.



And are you using again?

Yeah exactly. That's what was getting me confused. I figured volume was only the amount of stuff that can fill an open space, not also a solid object.

If you're asking that question, do you really need the answer?
 
Okay so did I do something inappropriate today? You guys be the judge.

These auction people, today was auction day by the way, they're more often than not people who work at the flea market who have like a booth or Eastern Europeans.

So this lady showed up and I was doing the whole fucking thing we have to do to give them their unit. And she was clearly Russian sounding.

So as I was doing all the paperwork I asked her. Hey, where are you from in Russia? And she said oh I'm from Ukraine.

And to that I said oh you're the good guys, cool.

It didn't seem to get the reaction I was assuming it would get she like politely chuckled.

Did I say something wrong?

You are probably being lumped in with the US position on this.
 
Either way I'd tread lightly. I generally don't have a filter either, but I've learned to pick my battles a little better and know when NOT to speak up.

Doesn't matter where you're born, doesn't matter how you're raised, doesn't matter what the laws are, this is hard (pun intended) evidence we are all the same inside.
 
None of my issues, only cardinals that are a problem in my area are these guys.
