International News

This Poland shit is interesting. Seems like they're in the midst of a semi coup.

Apparently Poland has a Tribunal (like our Supreme Court), a President (who is not really in charge but does have some power) and a PM (who I gather is more powerful than any other single person in their gov't, like our POTUS)

Turns out the head of their Supreme Court (like our Roberts) has been pissing people off with his shenanigans. So the PM waited for the President to go on one trip then ousted the head of the court and had the police physically deny him reentry to the court. But it seems like he didn't go through the legal channels to properly oust the judge.

The PM is pro EU and the President isn't as far as I can tell.

So that's my very basic understanding of the situation I learned about 20 mins ago. And I don't really care what dumb Europeans do, I just don't want them to cause enough trouble where we need to get involved.

No matter what happens it is interesting to follow.

The days where the world wants the USA to become involved are long gone.

Really? I'm so happy to hear that!!!!! So none of the 31 other nations will care if we leave NATO?

That's such great news!!!!! I was hoping we'd accomplish the withdraw during this admin!!!

Didn't you already do that?

Not going to say more since I think I probably crossed the line a bit about politics, And Toledo is not far enough away from me to think I won't get a thrashing for it.

Yeah my fault too man. I shouldn't have responded to you. I wasn't trying to make this an American politics thing. I just thought what was happening in Poland was interesting. I shouldn't have added that second to last sentence in my original post.
