I now have a whole bunch of reels about trains on my Facebook feed. I think it may have started when I watched a video of a train demolishing a stuck truck on the track (always fun). But now I get videos of various trains just doing train stuff. There are people videotaping a train as it goes down the track. They will sometimes do a vocal commentary like "This is the South Pacific #321 heading south to Roanoke, VA" or something like that. Some are excerpts from train documentaries. I can only imagine the excitement of the whole documentary. The part I get is "here is the Eastern Pacific eastbound train heading though the pass". Then a long pause while we watch the train go by. Then another shot "Here it is meeting the westbound coal train" then a long watch as the 2 trains pass each other. Then some fun fact about the grade of the track at this point. Then it cuts out.

I am fascinated that there are people filming these trains, and some even know the types and numbers of engines on each of the trains which they know by number. Some even comment on whether that was the right choice for the job. I am also more fascinated that there are people who watch this regularly. Although it does seem to support several websites.

I do confess to find it somewhat soothing but I much prefer when they splatter a car or truck who is stuck on the track.

Please keep us updated on when these drop off your reels, and what you had to do to get them to go away.

I'm having a hard time even posting this. Mrs. Scotch was notified by a Facebook friend to check her "following" list. And both of them have had Donald J Trump added to their list today. I did a search and found several reddit threads about this happening to other people. This is like Handmaid's Tale level shit.

Don't you require permission to be friends? Usually you have to confirm a friend request.

There must have been some user agreement or some update to the user agreement that we all never read that the Mrs clicked okay to that allowed them to add influential figures or something like that.

Even with that it's still pretty fucking weird like I don't want to wake up and be following weakness David Duke because I'm searching something about fascists or whatever.

I can't believe they would do that on purpose. I mean most of these companies have learned by now. Look at Gemini... That thing is so careful to never make any statements whatsoever about current day politics.

I know Facebook has gone to the Twitter model of community noting which I 100% agree with but this is wacky. I mean if they're doing on all-purpose that's really freaking weird.

I don't have any place that shows followers or who I follow. I checked my liked pages or people I follow, and The Donald ain't one of them. I also checked my Instagram and did not find him following me or me following him.

It’s worth noting that in most instances, people are referring to the POTUS account, not Trump’s personal page on Facebook. Remember, the POTUS account automatically updates once the Presidency switches over. Don’t confuse this with Trump’s personal page. So if you were following President Biden (via the POTUS account), you’ll now see the page updated with President Donald J. Trump’s name. The same goes for the Vice President and First Lady. Therefore, Facebook isn’t really automatically making users follow Trump, Vance, or the First Lady. However, reports about people not being able to unfollow the accounts is concerning nonetheless.

Was she already following POTUS/Biden?

I read that. She says no, but she could've setup something years ago that caused this. When I checked mine, I had forgotten that I setup to follow certain things years ago. HOWEVER, that is no excuse to auto-follow anything, and it's clearly an attempt to do something underhanded.

I don't have any place that shows followers or who I follow. I checked my people I follow
Do you see your contradiction right there? The list of people I follow is way down in my "about" list, after a whole bunch of shit. It's not something I would ever check, if it wasn't for this.

I don't see it. Don't even see an 'about'. All I see a the bottom is stuff for instagram and threads profile. I see all the pages I have followed and all the pages i have liked. No POTUS is on them. I don't get political on my facebook page (that often).
