I use Facebook to see what friends and family are up to, and update them.

Twitter isn't as negative as it was when Elon bought it. I think it's because the worst of the negative peeps switched to (un)Truth Social.

I don't use the others like Instagram, TikTok, Tumblr, etc. But I do use Reddit.

I got rid of my Facebook and Twitter about two and a half years ago
Over the past couple of weeks, I was wondering what you, Wolfie, and Memebag were up to. Found the other 2 on Facebook. But not you.

We will post vacation pics, or dog hikes on Facebook. We don't post daily stuff anymore. Mostly I see what others are up to.

As nobody here is a proponent of Facebook, this is probably the wrong audience to complain to. But where else can I go to complain; Facebook?

Recently, I'll see a post from a friend I'm following, and Facebook will ask me "Do you want to see more or less posts from this person?" And I never answer, because #1, I don't do surveys, but #2, the answer is neither "more" or "less". The answer is, "I expect to be seeing ALL posts from the friends I'm following, so the fact that this question is being posed is - in itself - disturbing".

I mean, wtf is going on? 95% of my feed is bullshit content and ads that I never asked for; yet they don't pose that question about all that crap. It's only the stuff I specifically joined Facebook to see, that they want to ask me about.

Get off my lawn!

If it's a friend I always say more. If it's an ad, I say less.

Facebook is the only social media app i use regularly. I don't TicToc and I am not a twit.

I guess that's a reasonable way to answer. But you forgot to include this forum in your list. Mrs. Scotch is on Instagram (as are my kids). They may also be on Twit, but not really use it. They do use TikTok and Snapchat. I'm not on any of those.

Yes I am on here. Probably as much as Facebook. Is bulletin board software still considered social media?

THIS!

Especially those freakin 18ish girls in yoga pants and small bras. At least that's finally gone. But I had to actually start clicking on stuff I want to see for that shit to cool down.

But yeah I'll see a post from someone I barely know (fan of the band) on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. But someone I want to see stuff from, I won't see anything for weeks. Then I'll go directly to their FB page and see the 4 posts I've NOT been shown.

Their algorithm is 100% backward

I think that if you follow a Facebook friend, and they don't filter-down their posts by subgroups, you should see all of that person's direct posts. But I have such a small number of friends who post, that Facebook will show me the posts from friends once, and then every other time, they're showing me suggestions and other marketing crap. So it may seem like I'm not seeing some posts, because I may not have caught it that one time.

But also, when you go directly to someone's feed (or wall, or whatever-the-fuck they call it), you will see all the posts that other people put on their feed. For example, if you're friends with Matt, and you go to his wall, and you see a post like "John is with Matt and 3 other people", or you see "Phil > Matt: Happy Birthday!", that's because those people are not your friends, so you won't get posts by friends-of-friends. And like I said, friends can setup subgroups.

I'm friends with a coworker who pretends that his wife is a hard right-winger. The truth is that they're both right-wingers. So 95% of what she posts (and includes him) is filtered so I can't see it. These are all things that make it seem like you're not seeing stuff.

It's not too bad depending on what you put it on.
Pizza = yuck.

I got some for the Mrs, because she likes hot sauce. She rarely uses it so I put it in my chili when I make a batch.

I guess pickles are a thing on pizza. I’ve had it. It’s ok. I just have to watch how much pickles I eat. I can get diverticulitis from stuff like that. It’s not fun

I haven't heard about that, but pineapple seems to be the topping everyone has an opinion on. There's a place near us that does Detroit style pizza, and one of their specialties uses banana peppers, which are really good.

I don't get chicken on pizza either but it is a thing.
That's pretty common around here in some combos. Chicken bacon ranch is big, with something like an alfredo sauce instead of a red sauce. Also BBQ chicken, and chicken and broccoli.
