I was just trying to think of a way to increase a person's feelings of guilt for sitting on their asses while having gluttonous food delivered. This may be it!This is quite possibly the DUMBEST idea I've ever heard of.

The good news is that if you don't pay your door-debt off in time, nobody will know if if the was the bill collector or the diabetes that took your arm and a leg.

I know this would eliminate working class jobs and it would also be incredibly expensive to retrofit stores up front with this tech..... But instead of scan as you go which still puts onus on the customer to actually do something which they're either not going to do cuz they're lazy or not going to do on purpose cuz they think they'll be able to get away with stealing a couple things if they scan everything else.....
Why not just do that thing those Amazon stores have been doing? You know where there's like a shit ton of cameras all over and every time you even pick something up and put it in your cart it automatically knows you're going to buy it and then if you put it back later on it automatically knows to take it off your bill.
That way you only need like a security guard at the front because the store only lets you out if your payment cleared but you would need somebody at the front to you know open the gates or whatever if there was a fire or what not. Along with people who stock and all that. But that can be done after business hours or at least mostly so and with a skeleton crew during the day.
