I still really like that album, and that song is great.
The songs had a lot of layers and the arrangements were still deep and varied enough to give each of the instruments the room to stand out on their own. It was a good tour too.

#66 Dead Milkmen "Punk Rock Girl"

One of those songs that encapsulates a little slice of history. Not all punks were violent Neo-Nazi assholes. There were a bunch of carefree 'modern-hippie' punks who didn't feel the need to stab people as the only way to express their anti-establishment views. And this song embodies that faction nicely!

That’s such a fun song.
It’s kinda like Napoleon Dynamite. I didn’t like it the first time I heard it, till it was more than half over. By then I realized I was hooked.

#63 Frankie Goes To Hollywood "Welcome To The Pleasure Dome"

First Wave (understandably) only plays the short version of this song. But the LP version is a Trevor Horn-produced masterpiece. If you include the 2 minute intro track, it's a massive 15-minute album opener that kicks it off in grand style. It was their fourth single, and first to not hit #1 (it peaked at #2) in the UK. I didn't get into this album until 1987, but once I did, I was hooked. It's still one of my all time fav albums. "The world.... is my oyster. Hahahahahahahahaaa!"

#62 Adam Ezra Group "Fairytales"

A singer-songwriter imagines dying. That's all I needed to get hit in the feelz. Starts out grim but accepting, ends with a drop of hope. Play this one at my funeral.

I will walk down empty streets
My pants rolled up above bare feet
With a suitcase filled with lyric sheets
Left undone

#60 Adam Ezra Group "She's Just A Girl"

The first time I heard this song I laughed several times, because I could relate to it so much. His story is about dating a girl, breaking up, then his friend bumping into her years later at a bar, walking her home and then asking him if he could date her. So many lines in song, I've experienced myself. They just make me chuckle with nostalgia. And when he sings the forced lines, and those insincere lines, I just laugh and laugh. He absolutely nailed a perfect story song.

"Just hopin' and prayin' her dad wouldn't barge through the door"
"Her parents both love me but I'm sure that there's room for you too"

So......all of his albums are on YouTube except this one. Here's a link to hear the song:

#58 Celldweller "Frozen"

The 2nd most sexy bassline in rock, second only to my #14 song coming up. And the lyrics are all about those guilty pleasures (and I don't mean cheesy songs you're embarrassed to enjoy). "Synthetic ecstasy when her legs are open..."
