Something is wrong with that chart..... I don't see Swift or Drake? I think it's damaged.....

New Kasabian!

Well....the first one is rather poppy for what I'd hope for from them.

The second one "Call" is a bit more to my liking:

Every year, SiriusXMU does a "Top 41". Since I recently posted my favorite songs of 2023 in October (above), I won't bother with the whole Top 41 list, as a lot of it isn't that great (IMO). Instead, I'll just indicate those that made my list, other notable entries in the countdown, and any end of the year additions.
It's that time of year again. And this year, I played the on-demand XMU Top 41 countdown of 2024 on the SiriusXM app, and I made a list. But honestly, it's not a good list. There are many songs on it that I don't recall being that popular or getting much airplay. Also, some of my favorites from the list were already featured here (or in the Catch of the Day thread) earlier this year. So here are the remaining notable songs from the list (plus a few others):

I've featured the band "Momma" before. They're throwback grunge rock. But with this one, they've completed the metamorphosis into the rebirth of Veruca Salt
Momma - Ohio All the Time

The Decemberists paired with James Mercer (of The Shins and broken bells) and came out with this one, however Mercer is substituted on all the live performances
The Decemberists - Burial Ground (live)

I'm not allowed to post the song Sometimes by Mannequin Pu$$y, but it's a good rocker, so look it up.

I've liked them for several years, both as solo artists and in collaborations
Soccer Mommy - Driver

Here's a fun one from a band that's been around for a long time
Beach Bunny - Vertigo

This is just pleasant to listen to
Magdalena Bay – Image

Another collaboration with Bully, and another winner (plus a great live performance)
Blondshell/Bully – Docket (live)

A two-fer from Jack White
Jack White – That’s How I’m Feeling

Jack White – You Got Me Searching

Yet another collaboration
Justice/Tame Impala – Neverender

We haven't had a good story-song in a while. And who better than from the dry wit of Father John Misty (Josh Michael Tillman)
Father John Misty – I Guess Time Just Makes Fools of Us All

And it's a two-fer. This is too cool/funky to skip
Father John Misty – She Cleans Up

The final collaboration on this list. This is a great dream rocker
Sea Lemon/Ben Gibbard - Crystals

Honorable mention to these songs:

Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory – Afterlife

The Bug Club – Lonsdale Slipons

IDLES/LCD Soundsystem - Dancer

Cults – Crybaby

Cola - Pulling Quotes

Suki Waterhouse - Supersad

DIIV - Raining On Your Pillow

Blondshell - What's Fair

Waxahatchee/MJ Lenderman – Right Back To It

Tunde Adebimpe (from TV on the Radio) - Magnetic

Other XMU artists on NME's 50 Best list:

Wishy
The Last Dinner Party
Clairo
MJ Lenderman
MK.GEE

Getting back to my list, I think I can get a little further into some of the "Honorable Mentions":

A party song if there ever was one
The Bug Club – Lonsdale Slipons

This is a little like the 2024 version of Trench Coat Museum
IDLES/LCD Soundsystem - Dancer

A.K.A. Robert Pattinson's baby-mama
Suki Waterhouse - Supersad

If you like dream-rock, this is for you
DIIV - Raining On Your Pillow

The talented artist on her own
Blondshell - What's Fair

It’s taken a while to get back to listening to these.
The first post:

Beach Bunny and Magdalena Bay are the better ones to me. Momma isn’t bad, but doesn’t grab me. The other two are pretty meh.

That reminds me that I planned to post the video of Mannequin Pu$$y from my phone. And I found this live version of Sometimes that's not only good, but done with a harder edge than on the album. Also, the bass player has quite a look.

Still working my way through.

Father John Misty – I Guess Time Just Makes Fools of Us All
I dig the groove.

Father John Misty – She Cleans Up
Love this one! Great groove, fun, & funky. The video is a lot of fun too.
This is a great dream rocker
Sea Lemon/Ben Gibbard - Crystals
I like this one too. Chill & dreamy with a nice vibe.
Honorable mention to these songs:
I've seen a lot of these playing on XMU. I'll try to pay more attention to them when I hear them again.
