Heard Ice Cube's song "It's A Man's World" on Rock The Bells Radio. It's a back and forth between him and female rapper Yo-Yo. I assumed he got the idea from Positive K's "I Got A Man" but it's the other way around. Pos K was 1993. Ice was 1990.

I'm willing to bet you didn't expect this to be coming: St. Vincent covering Funky Town for the new Minions movie

It seems like a fitting version for an animated kids movie. I was hoping she would give it more of a St. Vincent twist.
The Pseudo Echo version added more to the original.

Swing Street Radio ( Enjoy Big Band Music at Swing Street Radio ) plays swing and big band music from the 1920s to the present. They just played Masculine Women! Feminine Men! by Frank Harris, 1926. His real name was Isidore Kaufman. He also recorded as Irving Kaufman, Lazy Dan, Noel Taylor, George Beaver, Henry Beaver, Pete Killeen, Brian Watt, Marvin Young and Confidential Charlie.

There were three other versions of the song in 1926: the Savoy Havana Band, Merritt Brunies & His Friars Inn Orchestra and Harry Reser & The Six Jumping Jacks. Here is the original version by "Frank Harris."

Not music, but the thread title fits.

My friend Bob (runs the weekly VJ game for me, his kid and his old college room mate) got mentioned on a recent episode of Emergency Medicine. If you log into the SXM web player, find the episode dated 2/14 and click on the second part "Show Anniversary Memories - 32 mins", he gets mentioned about minute or two in. He had mentioned online that a classic moment from the show was two "psychiatry disorganized" ladies arguing with each other so crazily that it escalated into slapping themselves in the vag (kinda like when gorillas pound on their own chests to assert their alpha male-ness).
