I wonder what's the lesser of the evils...

Fox Weather: owned by the Murdochs.

The Weather Channel: owned by the douchebag who took over Colbert's slot on CBS. Plus, he owns a bunch of TV stations and wanted to replace all of their meteorologists with pre-taped Weather Channel forecasts.

Plus, many of Allen's stations are in tough weather areas. Nothing like your home getting swallowed by an F5 while smooth jazz is playing on the TV with an automated announcer saying "your local forecast."

Now there is a Country Coffeehouse Xtra channel.
I did not know what to think of that before listening. I should have seen this coming with the main channel having more songs with a slight country blend. It is, by far, ranked last of all the Coffeehouse channels for me but I would tune in again.

Terrestrial radio stations on satellite radio. What a concept! But it is nothing new. In its early years, XM carried KHMX-Houston, WSIX-Nashville, WLTW-New York, KIIS-Los Angeles, KNEW-San Francisco and many other stations along with the audio from MTV, VH1 and Headline News.

Hopefully they're getting paid quite handsomely for this.

It's like having Netflix, HBO Max, Peacock or Disney+ and then choosing to watch the movie on local broadcast TV. (A year or two ago, Jaws was on NBC and I was like "hey, we get that movie on Peacock." Even with the plan that had commercials, it was just something like one quick one at the start of the movie and then one at a random point in the movie. It was so much better.)

Why would you listen to FM rock radio when you get Octane Top 100 or Octane Just Music or even the "up and coming" version of Octane?

I never noticed but did they drop the number of classical stations down to 1 I thought they had 3 before. I do not listen to much classical. I have my box of Beethoven CD but that is it. I will watch for the channel change with Watercolors. That is my #2.

It looks like they only have 1 classical and the Broadway channel on the sat numbers. There are a few more in the 700s.

BTW I have several hundred classical albums and CDs. I mostly bought the CDs, and a few of the albums were from my childhood. But also, several people gave me their album collections, including a lot of classical.

That's great.
We used to go to the Madison Symphony Orchestra and that was fun. I would wear a dress shirt and tie. and look at the other people dressed up. I would usually pick Beethoven Night.

But I still wonder what made for the shift other than the classical being right after the country channels
They might have added another country, looks like one of those channels were brought in from on line only

I kind of remember they had a traditional classical channel, and a light classical one. And maybe something else too.

XM Satellite Radio had XM Classics (Channel 110, overseen by Martin Goldsmith) and XM Pops (Channel 113). After the 2008 Sirius-XM merger, XM Pops moved to Channel 77 and became SiriusXM Pops. XM Classics was replaced by Sirius's Symphony Hall (previously heard on Sirius Channel 80) on SiriusXM Channel 78. Symphony Hall is now SiriusXM Channel 66 and XM Pops is now online Channel 745.
