The Eagles Nest

So turns out it wasn't a dream even though I went to bed at like 5:00 a.m. I woke up and it's still real.... They are in their fourth super bowl of my lifetime and their fifth overall.

I was listening to one of my daily Eagles podcasts and they made a great point I think the Sirianni and Jalen tenure at the helm of the Eagles has now surpassed that of Reid and McNabb.... I mean Andy and Donovan gave us some amazing years and we went to the championship game multiple times and lost multiple times and we went to one super bowl in '05 that we lost...

Sirianni and Jalen have now taken us to two super bowls and gone to the playoffs every year he was head coach. Nick is right. Jaden just wins. I mean honestly, everybody likes to look at qbr and everything that comes with that completion percentage and yards per game and even the more intricate stuff like qb under pressure rating which I believe is like 79 which ranks him 5 overall

And he throws a lot of balls away. He will scramble usually to his right and then if he can't find anything and he can't take off. He just throws it away and I love that.... Protect the football. Do not make dangerous throws. It's better to throw it out of bounds and to live to see another down then risk a turnover.

The only time he can risk a turnover is throwing the 50/50 ball to AJ and when it's AJ it's not a 50/50 ball. It's like a 70/30 ball.
 
So who would you guys take over Jalen?

5. Joe

And you guys are going to say oh Borrow should be ranked above Hurts but they've both been in the league for 5 years and jalen's gone to the playoffs every single year. Joey hasn't. You give me the 20/20 draft class to do over again. I'm picking Jalen over Joey.

Fantasy numbers say otherwise. And we all know the best way to determine QB value is fantasy numbers. Ask the owner of the NY Jets.

It's hard to compare. The Begals suck in so many areas other than QB. Philly has a great O-line. Which makes Jalen's worth increase. However, a lot of the QB performances of the past and present seem to be tied to the o-line. Think a couple of years ago KC had some o-line problems and Patrick looked very human. They fixed them and he became Patrick again.

Personally, if I had a good team and o-line I would be happy with any of the top 5 QBs. For my fantasy draft next year I would go with Josh or Lamar if I had a chance. Burrows would be my third choice.
 
I watched a lot of Hurts’s games in college. I admit I saw him at best being a top flight backup. He’s surprised me, but it helps having a great offensive line. Him in Carolina would be struggling, as would most QBs.
 
Since 2002 the Eagles have been in the NFC championship eight times. That's 8 out of 23 or almost 35% of the time....That's pretty freaking great.

I waited from the day I was born until February 6th 2005 to see my Birds play in the super bowl. It took the first 23 years of my life to see it one time.

Since then I saw Big Dick Nick become the greatest quarterback in the history of the Philadelphia Eagles by winning me a super bowl on February 4th 2018.

Then Jalen comes along and takes us almost all the way on February 12th 2023 and he played an amazing game... And now we get our rematch....

February 9th 2025 is when the birds will fly into their second super bowl. Victory on the back of saquon and AJ and Devanta and Jalen And Dallas and our amazing rookies on the defensive side of the ball Quinyan and Coop.... Plus Jalen Carter is the most amazing dt in the game right now.

Also, we're going to get Brandon Graham back for the super bowl and as soon as we win it he's definitely going to retire. He tore something in his arm earlier in the year and all we've been talking about all year long is that if we make it to the super bowl he'll be able to come back for that game....

BG is an all-time Eagles legend. He strip sacked Brady in LII to force the fumble allowing Derek Barnett to recover the ball and seal the fucking victory for us.

BG is one of three players from 2017 that's still on the team. BG deserves to go out with a win in LIX. I fucking deserve a win in LIX..... WE'RE GOING TO GET THAT WIN!
 
Who's the all-time best running back in the history of football because Saquon is at least in the top five. We got Barry, Jim b, AP.... We got Emmett (fuck Dallas). We got the bus. Who else am I forgetting?

Saquon just got all time regular season and playoff record.... Plus super bowl fucking win. Go Birds .....So there we go. Let's go fucking Birds

These guys fucking care bro. These fucking multi-millionaires care this goddamn much it's fucking touching.

Cjgj cries talking about how much he fucking cares and CJ is the dude who gets kicked out of games for like getting too hyped up and being too like fucking manly and just beating the shit out of people and taking personal fouls and unsportsmanlike shit.

AJ talks all about how he gets the credit and the other guys deserve it just as much as he does. AJ's supposed to be the fucking diva.

Jalen is probably what the British army uses to teach new recruits of the Queen's guard as an example of how to always be level-headed and never show emotion.... And even he talks about how that lost fucking murdered his soul.

God man this Is fucking beautiful. This is the new NFL this is Sirianni talking about flowers in team meetings and getting mocked for it but this is what the players need now. They can be emotional and they can also be fucking complete goddamn badass gladiators.

I said it earlier in a post about how Sirianni is so caring about his whole team But I didn't really believe it until I saw this. I liked to take a hard line and think about how like oh yeah the players are pussies now. They need to stop worrying about their feelings and just get out there and fucking smash each other. But I think siriani's approach, letting his players be emotional when they are in team meetings, gets them to work harder in practice and thus smash the fucking shit out of everybody else on game day because they care so goddamn much about each other.

Check it out. I got my new metal art things and I think they look pretty freaking cool above the TV. Now that they arrived, I ordered three others. The super bowl 52 logo and the super bowl 59 logo with the Eagles champions like thing on it and then a big Eagles bird. All the stuff I talked about earlier.

My whole house is going to be metal Eagles art (and Ulysses S. Grant) and I'm definitely cool with that.
