Piastri is getting on a nice little roll. Hopefully he can challenge Verstappen since Hamilton is off to a slow-ish start, granted still top 10 finishes.

With McLaren being on top, it's expected that Lando or Oscar would be in the lead. Lando's had a few missteps, which allowed Oscar to take the lead. Max has been #3 for some time now. And George Russell is in the mix.

It's looking to be a great season right now. 4 teams battling for the lead, if you add in Ferrari. But I was super bummed by Tsunoda's crash on lap 1. He's my guy this year. I'm hoping for him to step up and challenge Max.

Kimi Antonelli is amazing as a rookie, so I hope he does well too.

3 in a row for Piastri, would like to see Norris and Hamilton get it together and make it even more interesting.

Mercedes is in the mix, which is good. If we could add Ferrari, that would be even better. Williams is surprisingly strong, and I like both drivers.

But emotions rule, and mine are making me root for Yuki Tsunoda. He is so cool, calm, and confident. I'd love to see him challenge Max. He's done well, but has been hit with shit luck.

As far as McLaren, I remember the years when they were dominant, in the 80's and 90's. It's nice to see them make a comeback.

To commemorate their 75th Anniversary, F1 is airing a 24-hour marathon (of what is not known since I haven't tuned in yet) on their Youtube channel.

I didn't know it existed either. What's more, I attended the 80th Monaco GP in 2023. The first one was in 1929. But according to Wikipedia, it was not part of the F1 World Championship until 1950.

This week marks the 2nd anniversary of our trip across northern Italy to Nice, France, and the Monaco Grand Prix. Last year I recounted the trip by putting together a photo book. For this year, I've downloaded the 2023 official program (the entire 100 page booklet). It's a nice historical reference, featuring things such as the driver/team lineup and track info. Here's the program cover; I guess 80 years is the golden anniversary:

And this is the lead-in page for the season review:

This year, I'll be in NJ at my sister's house during the qualifying, which means I'll be recording it.

We have some updates on the list of F1 WAGs! So when we last left off, we had Spanish Ferrari (now Williams) driver Carlos Sainz, and his Scottish model girlfriend, Rebecca Donaldson
