What an absolutely crazy thing to do! For all he knew, he could've just plunged to his death. He must've been in major trouble to do that. It's also interesting that there's a camera on the bridge to capture it.
He was driving a stolen car. But this also means he doesn't care if the car gets damaged on the landing. What an absolutely crazy thing to do! For all he knew, he could've just plunged to his death. And the "Dukes Of Hazard".Well, it worked in the Blues Brothers, so why not?
In legal terms, the force after the first bullet (assuming it hit) would be considered offensive.
It is a shame about the SD card though.
If he was a cop, then in order to shoot legally he needs to see a gun or harm being committed with no other less lethal method to stop him. Once you pass the threshold for firing I think you can fire until the threat is neutralized. But if he was in the role of a citizen which he likely was in this situation I don't think the same rules apply. Of course some states have very lenient stand your ground laws and those may factor in although it sounds like this is not the case as he as charged. But aren't police.......and I don't know what this guy's background is, but he was running for sheriff so I assume he has some sort of law enforcement background........ Taught that once they begin shooting they should keep shooting until they 100% know the threat is neutralized?
I'm pretty sure that's what they're taught down here. I don't know about Canada, but I would imagine it's the same thing.
So, in a completely different circumstance (this guy deserved more than one mag being empty in him) it would still be justified even if he the shooter is a civilian at the time? I have no idea. I'm just wondering this shit out loud.
