I never open any email that is obviously spam but sometimes I try to go to the sender's website to see if it's legitimate. Most of the dot-com addresses are spoofed and do not exist. I just got an email asking "Does your timeshare qualify?" (I don't have a timeshare.) The email came from "Gavu.com." There is no such website – but if I want to buy the domain name, I can "click here" or call the number. Uhhhh.....no thanks.

In the past two weeks I have gotten several emails saying "Your Hulu account has expired" or "Your Netflix account has expired" – which is odd, because I do not have a Hulu account or Netflix acccount. Today I got an email saying "Your Peacock TV membership has expired" – which is odd because I don't have Peacock TV either. I've also gotten a few emails that say "Your SiriusXM account has been deactivated." Uhhh.....no, it hasn't. Nice try, scammers.

Here's a sample of my spam folder

As you can see, I get the same crap you get. But I never see any of it, because it goes directly into my spam folder. Not sure why your email doesn't do the same.

Most of these scam emails go into a spam folder but I still have to open the folder so I can delete them all. I've gotten a few of those "Just for you" Mastercard offers too. Just for me? Really? Wow! But tell me, Mister scotch, why your ISP considers a notice of the shipment of an Amazon order to be spam.

Why? I never go to my spam folder, except for the purposes of this discussion.

Because it's a mass email, identically sent to thousands of people (with an email replacement). And this is an email account I have with a provider who's been around as long as email has existed. So it's not like it's new technology.

I just got an email saying "Your paid product test is waiting." It was not in my spam folder; it was among my regular email. It came from a sender at the website "24umu" – which of course is spoofed. No such website exists. How dumb do these spammers think I am?

Please don't anyone answer that.

Because sometimes stuff gets flagged as spam that shouldn't. Gotta skim through them to make sure something important doesn't get deleted.
What I wanna know is; if Microsoft allows me to flag something as spam, why does it still show up in my spam folder? If I decide I want to black-list everything from China-Imports.biz, why does it still show up in my spam folder?

I also get false positives regularly. One of my e-mails i have set to just add [spam] to the subject. Easier to clean up. The other one does the spam folder which doesn't get cleaned as regularly.

Stumbled on this

Before Alfonso Ribiero became Carlton Banks on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, he was releasing music with Maurice Starr (New Edition/New Kids).

Usually the verification codes for putting Netflix or whatever other service on a new device go to my spam folder so I have to look at it for that. Like if it wont let me get a text code and I have to do email it almost always goes to the spam folder.

I posted that CNN story yesterday about scam crypto that starts with hot girls on WhatsApp. I have a few WhatsApp contacts but the only one I really talk to is Pam. I'd say once or twice a month I get random messages saying hello on there from a random way too sexy Asian girl. I always block them.

I also get random calls and texts now and then. Usually the Pixel filters them out so I never even see them unless I actively check the un-trusted sections.
