When I was a kid my mom worked as a professor at Gwynedd Mercy University which as you can guess by the name is Catholic so she made friends with a bunch of the nuns. One of them, Sister Jean, became a close family friend like she would go on Disney trips with us and stuff.

She would also babysit me and I used to have one of those like play school plastic houses in the backyard and I would go in it and she would climb in with me but she was like a 75-year-old nun so like only half of her would make it in. We have pictures of it. It's really funny. Sister Jean was awesome.

There was a year-long cruise ship not too long ago and it was plagued with all sorts of drama. I watched like probably 15 various YouTube videos reporting on its status throughout the journey. It was quite fun.

That's cool as hell.

Hectic is totally right. That is amazingly cool. And yes random but not that random.... If you're going to a super cool Italian joint locally and they have a picture of your Venice hotel on the wall, seems like you're at a place that's authentic.... Or at least knows the spots that Americans are most likely to stay at and thus would be cool to put up on the wall to please the customers.

Yeah it was shocking at first, but I guess there's some logic to it. I mean, it's not totally unexpected that an Italian restaurant has pictures of Italy. But there are hundreds of hotels in Venice, and Venice is among dozens of popular Italian tourist spots.

We knew that a big launch point for gondolas was right outside our hotel, but I didn't think it was famous for that. So we never expected to see a print of our particular hotel. And then there's the fact that the restaurant has 3 or 4 dining rooms. We were never seated in that room before. And if I wasn't directly across from the print, I wouldn't have noticed.

Whatever rationale I think up for an Italian place in Maine having a picture of the hotel you stayed at on their wall doesn't really matter..... It's really freaking cool and something that I imagine you'll randomly bring up to Mrs scotch every now and then for a long time.

Speaking of Venice, they had a really fascinating system of plumbing for both water and waste management that they had to tweak over the years before they got it right. I watched this video a couple months ago but now every time Venice is mentioned I think of it. The plumbing stuff isn't until the last two segments of the video, but the whole thing is cool and worth a watch.

Every time I see a fun video on YouTube I compare it to my all-time favorite which is horse kicks tree, farts on dogs then runs away. Usually that one always wins. I think I have found a true contender to its crown.

Contrary to what you may see in novels, movies and television shows, pirates did not bury their treasure, nor did they make a "treasure map." If they had any "treasure," they would spend it on food, liquor and prostitutes. Although.....in April 1573, Francis Drake and his men ambushed a mule train in Panama and buried the gold and silver along the coast but retrieved it a few days later when Drake's ships arrived. In 1699, Captain William Kidd buried gold and jewels on Gardiners Island near Long Island, New York, but authorities confiscated it and two years later Kidd was executed by hanging.

In 2024, Jon Collins-Black buried five treasure chests. He is not a pirate. He made millions of dollars investing in bitcoin. Oooh, let's start searching!

A man hid five treasure chests worth more than $2 million across the United States. Here's how to find them.
