Aren't the really good deals only for new subs?

I'm not exactly sure what they define as a "new subscriber."

My TV provider used to regularly give "3 months free HBO/Cinemax." When I'd get it, I usually needed to wait a while before doing another three. Only once, were they able to renew instantly.

Sidenote: It was fun to sign up in late August, knowing that Thanksgiving weekend was an automatic preview. Three months plus four days!

But...as far as I can tell...my previous post is absolutely true.

I called today and the person who barely spoke English said that the $2.14 deal was for new customers only, bla bla bla.

I use those links above and it says exactly what I put above.

Yeah, that CSR was a load of hockaminie. I'm paying $13/mo for everything.

I was able to go down from $10.99+fees&taxes to $8.99+fees&taxes.

Instead of calling in next June or July, whenever it was, I now call them in November!

I'll take the $24 bonus monies and apparently I don't lose any content.

I just got this email from SiriusXM. After I read the heading.....and after I fainted.....and after I came to, I read the rest of it. Will wonders never cease!

Account notification: Subscription price decrease

Look for the updated SiriusXM app coming in just a few weeks and get ready to enjoy even more for less. And with our new app's enhanced recommendations and discovery, we'll get you closer to everything you love – now for only $9.99 per month. While some other streaming services raise their prices, SiriusXM is lowering the monthly rate on your Streaming Platinum subscription from $10.99 to an all-in price of $9.99 per month inclusive of music royalty fee, effective December 14, 2023. Your Streaming Platinum plan will automatically renew at this new lower price plus applicable taxes on your first billing date on or after the effective date and your payment method on file will be charged unless you cancel before then. If you are on an annual plan, your annual renewal charge will reflect these lower rates.

Was not sure where to post this. You can get SiriusXM 6 months for free.

Enjoy SiriusXM Streaming Platinum for 6 Months ON US.

Available to T-Mobile Wireless, Home Internet, and Sprint customers on an eligible rate plan.

After your 6-month offer period, you will be automatically charged the then-current SiriusXM Streaming Platinum plan monthly rate if you do not cancel prior to the end of your offer period.

  • If you are a T-Mobile postpaid wireless customer, you will automatically be charged the then-current SiriusXM Streaming Platinum plan (currently $11.99 per month plus tax on applicable plan) on your T-Mobile bill if you do not cancel your subscription prior to the end of your bill cycle. You will receive a notification as you get closer to your offer period ending as a reminder.

Oh yeah....they want to compete better/harder with the likes of Tidal, Apple Music, etc.

No wonder they were so eager to lower my price from $9.99 to $8.99 per month for 12 months. And yeah, I have one radio in a car and one app.

With that said...I just saw that I had a missed call from SiriusXM. I strongly suspect it's the radio that was supposed to be canceled in early November (or whenever it was) that still appeared to be working a few days ago. I'll just wait until the owner of that car asks what happened to the satellite. At that point, I'll know they finally sent a kill signal and it'll be time to renew for three months. (The owner of the car has been separated from the car for a few days now and won't be together again for a few more days.)

Apparently the best offer right now...

Cancel your SiriusXM.
Sign up for $3.99/mo for the basic music plan. They'll upgrade you to Platinum for two years.

Apparently it's approx $95 for EVERYTHING THEY OFFER for two years.

Sounds like you got a good one

It was super easy to do! It didn't even require me canceling my account.

5.20 includes taxes and fees in my situation. Obviously prices may be different due to taxes.
It's good for two years from today.
$124.80 cents total.

It seems to be everything, per the Canadian CSR. All the music, Howard, sports, etc.

And yeah, they've been hearing an earful about the new app.

Thanks for the info. Did you do it online or call SiriusXM?

I called.

2024 will be the first year I haven't called SiriusXM since 2004. When I first started in September 2005, it was $9.95 or whatever per month for six months. Some time after that, they had a "buy a year and get a month free" or similar.

My usual deal was "half off for a year." There was a time when I think I remember paying extra...for something...not sure. I know I had the Best of XM for a while back when that was a thing.

This is a very nice reward for being one of the OG members.

Ok,...so I do remember getting a two-year deal way the heck back when. I think it was "22 months at regular price and get two months free" back when they had such deals. I think they had "pay for five years and your last five months were free."

With that said, if anyone JUST wants the app, here's my situation:

I have an extra car that I'd like to put it on. The owner of this car has zero interest in the app or website.

If someone reading this JUST wants the app and website, I'd be willing to negotiate a reasonable offer.

Uh, yeah, about that.......

I did see a few posts somewhere where people were forced to cancel their accounts (very easy) and then had to re-sign up with the new promotion.

If it matters any, my active account goes back to 2005 and not yesterday.

What's nice is when I get an (somewhat) unexpected windfall of money. These two years just essentially became free, plus some (all?) of 2023.
