Things That Nobody Needs

Reaction videos! I mean, WTF are these? I've spent countless hours selecting song videos to post on my thread, and that means I have to scroll by all these "Reaction" videos; basically, some pimply little know-nothing shithead who listens to a song through headphones, and you just watch him bob his head and make facial expressions.

Why am I supposed to care about what a talentless 16 year old thinks of a 50 year old classic song? Why would I waste my time with these?
 
Agreed. And I'm supposed to believe there's all these people hearing "Stairway to Heaven" or "Let It Be" for the very first time.
 
Here is Stairway To Heaven. It was a #9 hit for Neil Sedaka in May 1960, I think somebody else recorded a different song with the same title.


 
Amen to that. Zep knew they were stealing the song. Everybody stole everything back then, but Men at Work got the shaft on a technicality. It’s like getting sued over using a few notes from Happy Birthday.
 
Aside from the stupid reaction videos on YouTube, the other useless thing I see on just about every performance video I pull-up are these comments:

You have the "who's still listening in 2020?" comment. I don't even know what the point of that is.

Then there's the "that's when real humans actually wrote and performed music". I always like seeing those under the video of some band lip-syncing on American Bandstand.

And finally, some people don't think today's bands have people of diverse races and colors. Because racial issues didn't exist in the 60's and 70's, right?
 
I usually avoid the comments with the same dedication I reserve to avoiding the comments at the end of political articles or social media posts.

There usually isn't anything good that comes from reading them.

That is similar to the schmucks who call in to a talk radio station and their first comment is "Long-time listener, first-time caller." As soon as I hear that, I turn the station off. I don't care what the person has to say. "Duh, yeah, I've been listening for a long time but I never had an opinion about anything until now."

Ok: "First time long time. I wanted to ask you about..."

Stupid: "Yeah hello. Hello? Um yeah. First time caller but I've been a long time listener. I've been listening since..." *CLICK* Next caller...
 
I like on stern a caller says 'I've been listening since the westchester days' but there 38 years old, huh!?!?

I also like callers on political shows always claiming they are hip to the real shiz and say 'I don't know why anyone isn't covering this!' or I haven't heard anybody talk about this. Uhhh do you listen to every broadcast on tv, radio, website all day everyday?
