Indiana has a similarly non-compliant time zone policy, but I think it's even more effed-up. If I can guess without looking it up: I think the entire state - except for Indianapolis - used to stay on one time zone, whereas Indy went with Ohio. But now, all of Indiana is a fixed time zone. Is that correct?

I think they have standardized but not sure what way.
They used to divide the state in 2. The west have being Central the east half being Eastern. In 2000 we were driving through and stopped for an oil change and asked the guy what time it was, he said it was 3PM there but 2PM on the other side of the street. To further mess up the state each county decided whether they observed DST or not. So at any given time you had CST, CDT, EST and EDT in the state.
ETA: They are almost all EST/EDT now except for a couple counties which are CST/CDT now.

The reason I know anything about this, comes from the time - in the early 2000s - when we spent the weekend in Indianapolis, for the Formula 1 US Grand Prix (they stopped racing F1 there in 2008 or so). They used the front straight of the Motor Speedway, and then turned into the motorcycle/road course in the infield portion of the grounds, eventually rejoining the high-speed track between turns 3 and 4.
Anyway, we flew into Cincinnati - well not really, as their airport is in Kentucky - and drove to Indy. There was a 1-hour time zone shift between the airport and the speedway, which screwed us on race day; as we had to leave before the end to make our flight (we were traveling on non-rev Delta standby tickets). And that leads to my other discussion about getting dressed-up to fly. Since we were representing Delta, we had to stuff our shorts and T-shirts in our bags and wear long pants and buttoned-down collared shirts. Mrs. Scotch was especially frazzled, as she had to ransack her carry-on bag to make herself "presentable", with brushes and make-up and a hair dryer and such. So when we went through security, we got pulled aside and searched. We missed our flight, although I don't think there was a seat for us anyway. We had to wait another 4 hours for the next flight we could get on. All because of time zones.

I am perfectly ok with that as long as it is daylight time which is chosen. I hate standard time.

Well, in keeping with the rule that nothing he does makes sense, I saw a news piece a couple of months ago about this topic. In the news piece, they bring-up the prior bill in congress to make DST permanent (which failed), and then they show him saying he'll eliminate DST. But of course, being the news (and not an op ed segment), they never point out the contradiction.

Well Koop might not like me for this mistake. I was updating #735 and missed a game which Channel98 won. So Koop lost one and C98 gain one as here is the latest official update. As I included + column from wins through #720.
