Please don't misunderstand, when I said he seemed sincere, I meant he sold the angle sincerely, i.e. kayfabe. I did not mean that I believed it.

Has anyone noticed the shows have been longer since they came back from break? Every show has been over 4 hours and one this week was almost 4.5 hours. Now a 4+ hour show isn't unusual but 6 back to back are.

I should add that I listen to the show with the commercials cut out but the live reads, bumpers and opening bits left in.

It's amazing to me how these Stern/Trump interactions are still making news. I'm not shocked by Trump's comments being criticized, I'm shocked that they keep making the news. It doesn't get much more public than talking on a nationally syndicated radio show. How in the world has this not made the rounds already? Especially after the first round of Stern/Trump comments made the news. I'd think that once the original story broke during the campaign, the first thing any news researcher would do would be to go through all the other times Trump was on Stern.

Howard has expressed regret for his past talk show appearances several times in the last few weeks. He does not want to do Jimmy Kimmel. He said his timing was off and that there were other things embarrassing things that he observed when he watched past performances. I agree completely. He would riff so brilliantly on the radio show in a normal voice and then go on Letterman or Leno and yell and do forced outrageousness. It got ratings but, in my opinion, was lowest common denominator stuff. How would his new emphasis on interviews style work on Kimmel?

Hugh Heffner has died.

Hopefully we get the Playboy Mansion (just about called it the Playboy Ranch) show on Sternthology.

That show is EASILY top 5 all-time. In no particular order:
1) Playboy Mansion
2) 9/11 (not only did Howard stay on the air, but Scott went home to go bowling.)
3) Final FM show...what it signifies. I agree with Howard that the entire speech segment should have made the airwaves.
4) First show on "eh eh eh."
5) Babapoligy.

Honorable mentions to the Las Vegas "Blackjack For A New Rack" show and the one where Pam Anderson was naked in a nearby hotel.

If that's with commercials, I wonder how that isn't a breach of contract... unless the official contract language no longer calls for four hours per show.

I clarified this in my original post about the long shows but I should have done it again. It is without commercials but with live reads, bumpers and the intro bits at the start of the show.

(the other day heard that something like 2/3 of gun deaths are from suicides and something like 70 or 80 per cent are white guys shooting themselves... and that suicide is a "rash act" , i.e. no gun in the house less likely a suicide)

I've done occasional Top Five Shows.

How come the Gay Dance Party was never in them? Every time Iris comes on Sirius, I start laughing.
