Watch Out For That...

So I was at a meeting in one of the towns/suburbs right next to Toledo Tuesday afternoon. It's pretty well built up and the streets are very busy especially at rush-hour when I was leaving. I had parked on the street next to where this street-view picture was grabbed, As I put my bag in the back seat, I heard the crunch of a car crash. I turned my head to look at the intersection and I saw a deer slide into the intersection, jump to it's feet, and haul ass to the left, leaping over shrubs and running through the parking lot. Two more deer followed. I walked up to the intersection to see what all had happened, and there was a guy standing outside of his pickup truck with a shocked look on his face, The front grill & fender were banged up and the windshield was shattered. No other cars were involved. There happened to be a cop at the intersection when it happened, People were saying the the deer were running down the sidewalk and just jumped into the intersection. It was crazy!

The deer were probably coming out of The Cigar Affair. That's Maumee, OH, and the Maumee Municipal Building's on the left. Google Maps knows all.

Didn't you recently escape a jack-knifed pickup truck incident? Seems like your luck is running out.
 
My son and I took our dog for a longer walk tonight as it was a nice evening. We stopped and sat on a rock by a parking lot. A car was driving though. At the same time a squirrel was sort of sitting at the side. Well the stupid rodent (they are rodents aren't they?) darted right under the car. The car I don't think saw it as it kept original course and speed. The squirrel hit one of the wheels and bounded off to the grass on the far side. After we got up a few minutes later we saw the squirrel quite dead laying on the grass.
 
Watch out for flying plates!

A Waffle House fight is fun for everyone. I like the guy filming who at 1:30 goes, "I just wanna eat, I paid for my food, I'm hungry af". Hahahah.

I woulda been out of there before the video started. I woulda been down the road already wondering IF a fight was gonna start.
 
I would have been sitting in the corner finishing my waffle. I don't recall paying cash in advance for my waffle last time I was there so I am not sure about the guy claiming he was owed a waffle.

The global computer outage affecting airports, banks and other businesses on Friday appears to stem at least partly from a software update issued by major US cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike. CrowdStrike told customers early Friday that the outages were caused by “a defect found in a single content update of its software on Microsoft Windows operating systems.
 
Canceled flights. Banks closed. This is what people thought Y2K was going to be.

But hey I got free parking downtown today. Evidently the computerized meters communicate with some Windows server somewhere!
 
It never ceases to amaze me why anyone, particularly in a mission critical businesses, uses Windoze as their server operating system. For a desktop fine. I know the argument is the hardware is cheaper. Well to them I say have they not heard of Linux? Runs on same cheap hardware. Much more reliable.
