I flew from Pittsburgh to Columbus once and Columbus to Cleveland. Different trips, FWIW.

Both of those flights were rinky-dink propeller planes.

There is a lot going on in this article:

Howard Stern silent as Scott tries to raise $50K for wife’s cancer | Daily Mail Online

And here is the GoFundMe:

Click here to support Help Robin Recover organized by Scott Salem

So did Howard say anything about it today? Also, is Sirius' insurance so bad that Scott is in such bad shape? Also, I don't buy 1 word out of Stuttering John's mouth. This is a salacious quote but John has a history of making wild claims about the current state of the show that he has had almost nothing to do with for many years:

'I heard a story where Scott the Engineer went up to Howard and approached him, and Howard told him, "You know you're not allowed to talk to me,"' Melendez said on The Stuttering John Podcast, citing multiple sources who continue to work alongside Stern and Salem on the radio show. 'I mean, Scott the Engineer, the guy's been there for 50 years.'

While I think that is very likely bullshit from a bitter ex, I do still think it's odd Howard has not mentioned it. Seems like kinda a big deal.

Ok, I gotta keep going. To me this quote is further proof John is a bitter now that Leno is gone and he is relegated to podcast land:

'Howard, come on man, this is ridiculous - how has Scott, a man who's worked for you for 30 years, set up a Go Fund Me campaign?' said Melendez, who left Stern in 2004 to work on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. 'I mean, come on ... how many millions do you need, Howard? At this point, how many billions do you need? You got three f***ing mansions!'

First off this article is set up to make Howie look bad. I'm all for bashing Howard now and then but in this case I don't agree. We don't have any idea if Howard has given Scott money or not. The article quotes Opie and John saying he didn't but talk about unreliable sources. 2 people with clear axes to grind.

Now let's just say Howard has not donated. Perhaps not the nicest move in the world but in what universe does Howard have an obligation to give his own money to an employee? I would venture to guess that (besides the money offered) Howard chose to go to Sirius because he didn't wan't to be responsible for all the things that come with running your own company, such as insurance.

Howard both is the boss and isn't. He has plenty of pull to say who stays and goes but there are Sirius people above him that could veto his decisions.

I know things are different in the entertainment world but I would imagine Scott has a few bosses before Howard. When I think about my situation I would never go to my boss and ask for money let alone go to the campus director and ask her to give me some of her personal savings. That idea is insane.

Also, Opie and John were bashing the show for mocking Scott. There is no way Scott can be fired from Sirius for requesting to not be on-air. So Scott is ok with being on the show. He's an Eeyore like character and has been for years. That's his role on the show. If he didn't want to be on anymore (like how he wasn't for a long stretch) I'm nearly certain he could go to one of his immediate supervisors and say so.

The problem I see is that the show has changed since Art left. It went from being an entertainment reality show to more of a strictly just entertainment show. The real life, serious personal stuff is often either not mentioned at all or quickly brushed over. This bothers me but I still like this current show enough to keep listening. I am disappointed when Howard doesn't bring up major, show-related, real life, stories but I am kind of used to it by now.

Angry Black!

Even though I had to read the entire article. I'm reading it, struggling to remember who that guy was...then, finally!

I thought I posted about him not too long ago, wondering what happened to him, but it must have been elsewhere.

The author of the article seems like a real charming woman:

Long back he came to my table at Campagnola restaurant. I responded by throwing something at him.

CBS CEO Leslie Moonves Will Remain at Work Amid Sexual Misconduct Investigation

"Throughout my time at CBS, we have promoted a culture of respect and opportunity for all employees and have consistently found success elevating women to top executive positions across our company. I recognize that there were times decades ago when I may have made some women uncomfortable by making advances. Those were mistakes, and I regret them immensely. But I always understood and respected — and abided by the principle — that 'no' means 'no,' and I have never misused my position to harm or hinder anyone's career. This is a time when we all are appropriately focused on how we help improve our society, and we at CBS are committed to being part of the solution."

I call bullshit. I can't be 100% certain that Artie wasn't under consideration, but there's no way he was getting that gig. And until he got the offer, there would be no need to involve Stern.

I agree that Howard was bitter about John, but the drama is all made up. If Howard knew John got an offer from Leno, there'd be nothing he could do about it. And who cares, anyway? It's just freakin' stuttering John.
