Sherbert is NOT and NEVER WILL BE ice cream.
Yes, she was brilliant as Wednesday. I have not found another movie or show of hers that has caught my fancy.
The SCTV documentary just became available.
The documentary is very good, glad they made one on SCTV
There's a doc out there now about that Godspell period. You Had to Be There (film) - WikipediaAnother documentary, also on Netflix. The SCTV documentary just became available. It was great, with lots of clips, the whole cast interviewed (before O'Hara died, and they had earlier interviews with Flaherty), and a bunch of "fans" commenting - such as Bob Odenkirk, Bill Hader, Tom Hanks, and Conan O'Brien.
Apparently, they all met while performing Godspell in Canada. It covers all the years, and ends with them refusing to let NBC move them to Sunday Prime time. But oddly, it doesn't cover their move to Cinemax for 83-84.
I'm gonna have to schlep all the way of to the suburbs for it, but I hope to see Cliff on the big screen.
"Godzilla Minus Zero"We're probably seeing Godzilla Thursday night. And I'll update my 2026 list when I get a chance.
Interesting, never knew. And why are movie previews still called "trailers" when they no longer trail the main feature – and haven't for several decades?
On Thursday, 4:03pm asked for my movie ticket for the 4pm showing, got in concession line, waited for two customers to be served, realized my phone was missing (hoped it was in the car) bought my hot dog then went to the fountain bay to fill my Pepsi Zero, went to my seat and put down my concessions, took the side exit to go to my car and grabbed my phone (gotta have your phone), reentered from the main entrance and sat back down, still saw one preview, movie started at 4:17pmToday, most movie theater chains, including AMC, Regal and Cinemark, show 20 to 30 minutes of previews, commercials and public service announcements before the movie – and many moviegoers now show up 20 minutes late just so they'll miss all the previews and commercials.
