"Yes, we will be glad to 3D-print an apartment for you –but no, you can not pay your rent with money you print at home."

This apartment building is being 3D-printed in Europe – and rent won't be more than $530 a month for a 872-square-foot unit

I have been away from 3D printing for a couple of years again. I have been doing some research and love the Bambu Lab printers. During Black Friday, they had a great sale and bought the Bambu Lab X1C with AMS aka multi color spools. Don't own many filaments yet, since some of them are on backorder.

My son scored a third 3D printer (his second free one) from the MIT trash and got it up and running.

He printed the usual boaty mcboatface (or whatever it's called - the one you always print when testing the printer). But made a real big one. Here it is in his dorm room on top of his projector where he hosts movie nights.

The boaty mcboatface is called a benchy. They are the 3d printing of torture testing to make sure your printer is calibrated well and can handle bridges, overhangs, small text, etc.

Couple more 3D prints added to my collection. I actually like the grenade on the right, the black trim is alright looking. I'll probably print a different one down the road. I'm still waiting on some filament due to the holiday season back order deliveries. My thought was taking the number on the left grenade and slightly enlarging it for the pin on the right.

Plus, I thought it would be a funny gag gift for a coworker I know that works in HR. I didn't take a photo of them, but I printed some Oreos. She grabs one and thought they were real and was about to take a bight into one and realize why are they stale?

I know what this thread is about but I have a question about printer ink.

And that is technically 3D printing. When ink is added to a page, it slightly changes the paper's thickness so it is, in a sense, 3D printing.

Anyway, you guys ever use knockoff HP ink? I have an HP Officejet 8015e and I just bought this for $40:

The real stuff would be like $75.

I rarely use my printer. I got it on 10.1.24 and this is the first time I am getting an ink refill.

You all ever cheap out on ink? How did it go?

Modern HP printers are smart about identifying HP ink vs non-HP ink. Some will refuse to print if not real HP ink. If your printer is old enough you might get lucky. Or you might be out $40 as you may have to pay $75 anyhow.

Yep, I read about that and you have e to buy the fake ink that fools the chip or whatever the ink cartridges have in them. This says it is able to do that but I guess Ill see tomorrow.
