    I had no idea.

The song sounds about the same as I remember. If they sped it up, it wasn't Alvin and the Chipmunks sped up.

I do think the song is not quite as good as I remember it. I didn't like the Purple Rain soundtrack when it came out, until I heard Take Me With U.

I don't think Prince cared for the song, either. It was originally left off the soundtrack and was given to Apollonian for her album, but later taken back

Loved this song when I worked the overnight shift in the 80's. Gave me a boost of energy to get through the early morning !

Yeah I was blindsided by that fact....

SPOILER: The original is kinda crap.

"Obsession" was originally written and recorded as a duet by songwriter Holly Knight and musician Michael Des Barres in 1983. This version was played in the 1983 film A Night in Heaven, during a scene in which Christopher Atkins bumps and grinds in Lesley Ann Warren's face in sync with the rhythm of the song.

I always dig the Animotion version. It's got so much more punch.

    39. BABY TALKS DIRTY - THE KNACK

First time ever hearing this one. Goes on too long, but it's pretty good!

    37. KISS ME IN THE RAIN - BARBRA STREISAND

Babs with the major innuendo! "With the feeling that I get, I don't even mind if I get wet." I actually LOL'd when I heard this.

    35. WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN - BETTE MIDLER

Atrociously bad. All of the dogs in my neighborhood started howling when it came on.

    27. 99 - TOTO
    16. HOW DO I MAKE YOU - LINDA RONSTADT
    13. AN AMERICAN DREAM - THE DIRT BAND

Forgot these existed. Didn't need to be reminded though.

    26. COWARD OF THE COUNTY - KENNY ROGERS

Not a fan of the music, but cool story bro.

    22. ROMEO'S TUNE - STEVE FORBERT

That piano lick is catchy AF.

    21. GIVE IT ALL YOU GOT - CHUCK MANGIONE

Someone needs to take that lightsaber Alan was talking about and slice that flugelhorn into ribbons.

    19. SPECIAL LADY - RAY, GOODMAN, & BROWN

Great intro. The rest is sh!t.

    12. DAYDREAM BELIEVER - ANNE MURRAY

    Why?!

    4. DESIRE - ANDY GIBB

Even a black hole would say this sucks.

Some songs that will never make it into the Top 40:
#44 38 Special "Rockin' Into The Night"
#49 George Burns "I Wish I Was Eighteen Again"

    38. LOST IN LOVE - AIR SUPPLY

The most memorable thing about this band to me (besides the cheeseball lyrics) is the dude's White Afro. Not much else since these guys were the Michael Bolton of their time.

    28. CALL ME - BLONDIE

Ahhh, American Gigolo. The movie that basically kickstarted Richard Gere's career and made all the ladies panties drop in movie theaters everywhere. Not a bad song either.

    26. COWARD OF THE COUNTY - KENNY ROGERS

He's got better songs. The Gambler is a particular favorite.

    25. I CAN'T TELL YOU WHY - EAGLES

The last official (non-live) album before Hell Froze over. You'll never see them together again now that Glenn Frey is gone. Glad I caught them in 94 when I had the chance.

    24. HEARTBREAKER - PAT BENATAR

You're a heartbreaker, dream maker, love taker, don't you mess around with me (repeat!)

    23. RIDE LIKE THE WIND - CHRISTOPHER CROSS

Whatever happened to this guy, had a couple of nice hits in the Adult Contemporary genre, then kind of fizzled out.

    7. DO THAT TO ME ONE MORE TIME - THE CAPTAIN & TENNILLE

Once is never enough with a man like you. Is it me or does that sound like a serious criticism of the guy's technique. Yo, that's it? You're Done?

    6. ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL - PINK FLOYD

    Classic!!

I think He's on a yacht somewhere in the Caribbean I bet. He made a ton of money in the 80's and then when the Adult contemporary genre fizzled out he went away. You'd think He would have made a comeback in the 90's but he never did.

I just saw Pat Benatar Saturday night.
It wasn't their normal rock set though. Pat and Neil did the show with the Toledo Symphony.
It was an OK change-up from the routine, but I was still hoping for Neil to break out the electric guitars.

He actually had more than just a couple A/C hits, eight of his songs hit the top 40 on the hot 100 and he won 5 Grammys. But yes he def fizzled out fast. I think it was because of a shift away from the popularity of A/C and Country Crossover in around '83 to hard rock (hair metal) and new wave, largely thanks to MTV. He kept releasing music up through '88 on Warner, then got dropped. He did release more albums in the 90s, but only overseas. And he's still pumping out the tunes. His latest album came out in 2014. #wherearetheynow

I think it's like when I was in my early 20s and I'd do it 5-6x in a day. A weekend at the girlfriend's college dorm could mean 8+ times. I take this line as "well, it's been an hour and all I can think about how good it was and how much I want to do it again, so let's get on with it!"

In honor of St Paddy's day, I'm listening to classic Denis Leary. Here's a great line:

"And you know what hell is, folks? It's Andy Gibb singing Shadow Dancing for eons and eons."

    Skin Trade (song) - Wikipedia

I barely remember this song. It's different. Not bad, just different.

It sounds like they're saying Skin Train
