Good 25
Okay 4
Bad 11
That's a new record for me for most 'good'. Beating my previous of 23 (Oct '83)
I think the closest we've seen to this '83 countdown was
3 years ago when they did early August, and I wasn't posting here back then.
35. I’LL TUMBLE 4 YA – CULTURE CLUB
I have an audio cassette somewhere in my basement of me in 1984 singing the chorus of this (changed to "Bat Mitzvah for ya") with a voice as high as a dog whistle, and my friend laughing his ass off at me. Yes, my childhood was loaded with hundreds of inexplicable oddities like this.
30. ROCK ‘N’ ROLL IS KING - ELO
Wamma lamma lamma lamma lamma
23. SHE’S A BEAUTY – THE TUBES
22. FAMILY MAN – DARYL HALL & JOHN OATES
Had no clue until the VJ said it this weekend that this was a cover song?!
#52 Joe Walsh "Space Age Whiz Kids"
Absolutely loved this song back then. Still like it a lot now. Ah-oo-wow-oo-wow....
#66 Meco "Ewok Celebration"
Listened to this all the time (taped it off the radio). C3P0 rapping? Hell yes! Then I pulled a dick move... My friends kept asking me to play it over and over, so to avoid getting sick of it, I taped over it. Not only was that a dick move to my friends, but I never found another copy of it until about 10 years ago, so I screwed myself too.
#86 Robert Palmer "You Are In My System" (peak #78)
#91 New Edition "Candy Girl" (peak #46)
Surprised these never broke the top 40. I knew them pretty well at 12 years old (almost 13).
Won't make the top 40
#48 Crosby Stills & Nash "War Games"
#49 James Ingram/Patti Austin "How Do You Keep The Music Playing"

#82 Toto "Waiting For Your Love"
#83 Bananarama "Shy Boy"
#86 Robert Palmer "You Are In My System"
#88 B52s "Legal Tender"
#90 INXS "Don't Change"
#91 New Edition "Candy Girl"
