I find something Phishy about that statement. You have to get away from Peter Pam? Maybe you need to get away from Disney?

Have fun at Universal Studios and say hi to Harry Potter.

Today was/is a great day.

I went to Epcot this morning and ate at Space 220 for lunch. Scotch has talked about it before and this was my first time there. It's fun how it's themed like you go up to a space station. The food was fine. I had shrimp tacos that were basically just an appetizer and a coke and with tip it was $30 so not horrible by Disney standards. I was really just there to see it in person and that was worth the $30.

Then I went and said hello to the Disney manatees they have at The Seas area of Epcot.

Then Pam's work is on my way home from Disney so I stopped by to say hi and we're all good.

And now I'm couch touring Phish live from Grand Rapids (they haven't been there since 1998) which is very fun.

All today needed was an Eagles win and it would have been the best day of my life.

At yesterday's D23 Expo at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Disney Parks chairman Josh D'Amaro announced that a show featuring a Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic is coming to Disneyland in 2025, the Magic Kingdom will add a Villains land, Animal Kingdom will add Encanto and Indiana Jones attractions. Disney's Hollywood Studios will add a Monsters Inc. land and Disney's California Adventure will add a Coco attraction and an Avatar land.

D23 this year had a ton of huge announcements but the Walt animatronic is by far my favorite. I really need to visit Disneyland at some point.

As for Disney World, they announced a huge transformation of the Magic Kingdom. The one happening the soonest will be a Cars land addition Frontier Land. It was just revealed that Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island will be demolished to make way for it. For as many times as I've been to the Magic Kingdom I've never taken the raft to Tom Sawyer Island so I cant say I'll miss it. However Rivers of America and the old timey Riverboat will be sorely missed. That's such classic Disney and it along with Tom Sawyer were opening day attractions so it's sad to see them go and even worse I that they'll be replaced with more IP. Also they are basically destroying Frontier Land. Tiana's is the Bayou so that's not Frontier and this Cars area will be God knows what. But Cars in Disneyland is themed really well so while I will miss the Rivers of America, this change is nowhere near as painful as losing Splash Mountain. And I am hopeful that overall I'll be happy with the change.

They will also be adding a whole new section of the park, Villains Land. This is further off but seems like a cool idea and it will be a totally new addition, not replacing anything existing so I'm all for that. It's part of their "Beyond Big Thunder" project they talked about last year. Basically they will just clear a bunch of land behind Big Thunder Mountain to add Villains Land.

Also Euro Disney is getting a Lion King Splash Mountain type ride that seems really cool. I'll likely never get to France Disney to see it so it makes no real impact in my life but it is neat nonetheless.

To celebrate my amazing WAI win yesterday I decided to take a trip to Disney. It's been almost a month since I was last there and not even joking, that's a long time for me.

I was just in the mood to do the people mover and the carousel progress and then while I was there I decided to do the Hall of presidents because I hadn't seen Biden yet as an animatronic he looks as good as any of the other ones. That show is quintessential Disney and it makes me sad about the current state of Disney. Where everything is IP.

My plan was to stay the night and then come back today and do the veloci coaster at universal but then I decided to drive home and say hi to Pam when she got out of work so I did that instead yesterday. I haven't done a day trip to Disney since I can't remember right around the time my dad died I think. I'm happy to know I'm not too old to still go there and back in the same day.

Overall, it was a fun trip as always.

This is hilarious.

I have gone over many times in this thread. How you can go to Disney on a budget with relative ease.

I mean you guys know me. I am hardly the picture of responsibility and to I've been managing to make Disney trips for years now for just a few hundred bucks all in. Now I understand I don't need any flights but even with flights. If you want to do Disney on the cheap you can. These girls simply aren't interested in doing that.

Holy shit! Much like how King had a wai about Jeffrey Lurie's uncle that I had no idea about the last week or 2 weeks ago or whatever. I just found out an amazing Disney fact that seems like something I should have known about years ago, seeing how I am who I am about Disney.

So Walt worked with a bunch of people to figure out where to put Disneyland but two of the main players were CV Wood and Harrison Buzz Price. Now Buzz was a nickname but still who cares. That's what he went by.

I had no fucking clue. Buzz and Woody had a historical tie to the founding of Disneyland. That's really fucking cool.

Oh and I should give this guy credit. I just came across his series. He's a Disneyland YouTuber that I watch from time to time but I don't really love him.... But apparently he started this series where he goes through like all the fucking details of how Disneyland was built. And it's really freaking cool. And I don't know. Maybe it's just for Disney nerds like me, but it's worth giving like 90 seconds to see if you as a normal person thinks it's also cool.

Speaking of which I need to get back to the parks. I haven't been there in months. Thanks to....Well I've talked to you guys all about what that so if I can pull my shit together I should go there this weekend cuz there's no football and there's no Pam so what the fuck else am I doing? But that's probably more of a post for the Koopland thread. May as well go back to the fucking one place that makes me happy no matter if everything is going great or incredibly fucking wrong.

I had a pretty good weekend. Went to Disney and Universal for the first time since the end of September of last year.

The weird thing happened at Disney. I went to renew my pass that expires in April and I upgraded it from the cheapest annual pass to the second cheapest one that allows me to go on weekends since I changed my schedule for football. I now have Sundays and Mondays off. I don't want to change it again in the off-season. Anyway, after I paid $755 for the new pass, I was informed that I wouldn't be allowed in the park on because it was Sunday. I figured as soon as I bought the new pass it would just kick in but apparently it doesn't kick in till the old one expires on April 9th.

So I left But as I was driving out of the Magic Kingdom I was thinking this is not like Disney. For all the bitching I hear YouTubers do, my experience with Disney has always been fantastic customer service. So I called customer service while I was on my way to Universal and after 15 minutes on hold, when I was pulling into the Universal parking lot, they picked up and the woman couldn't have been nicer. I explained the situation and she automatically gave me a park hopper day pass for free (a 1 day park hopper pass costs abt $185) for that day which was this past Sunday. So I drove back to Disney, did all my Magic Kingdom stuff and had a great day and my stellar opinion of Disney customer service is intact.

Also, Universal was so freaking cool. That velocicoaster is the greatest roller coaster I've ever been on. The way that it pulls you out of your seat so many times is really exhilarating. It's kind of scary actually which is what makes it so much fun. I'm used to coasters that maybe push you out of your seat for a split second. This one does it for what feels like a full second multiple times. So you're completely dependent upon the restraint working in order to not die. God it's so much fun!

Back in September I went to this mini golf course that I saw on one of my Disney vlogs because they sold very inexpensive Disney art and I bought nine things. They have sat on my table in a pile since then until today I finally went and got frames for all of them and here is the end result. All this stuff that doesn't have the thick white border is new like the two on the left and the two on the right are the old ones.

What do you think about how I hung them up?

I like it being asymmetrical and having the Disneyland map in the middle since it's the only one that's horizontal.

Very nice. I bet you have the best accessorized storage unit around.

I know this isn't Disney but since I was talking about new decorating at my storage unit, I mean home, I figured I'd put this here too. I posted some of it in the NFL thread, but there's been an addition.

Check out this cool shit I found on some website that sells met al Eagles wall art.

I got these two first:

I think that's a very appropriate picture with Brandon Graham announcing his retirement with the two super bowl trophies he earned on either side of him.

And then I just got this one yesterday:

I have two more coming and I don't know. I'm kind of addicted to buying metal Eagles art now.

Another good Orlando day today. Decided randomly to drive up to Universal because I'm blacked out from Disney until the 27th. I left at 1:00 so I'd make it there at 4:00 right at the time my skip the line pass kicks in for Universal.

Did all the usual stuff including velocicoaster which is really the whole reason I go. That's the greatest roller coaster ever. It's so much fucking fun.

And really the reason I decided to go is because I was talking to Pam about it and she was like oh you should just get that hotel room we sometimes get right by my work and so I was like okay and then I was like all right I'll go to Universal and then I'll drive home to the hotel. It's a win-win. I get to hang out with her in the morning and my drive home was like an hour shorter because the hotel is an hour north of my house more or less.

I also did the transformers and mummy rides for the first time. It's always fun to do new rides even though transformers kind of sucks. It's basically the exact same ride like simulator but on a track with 3D glasses as Spider-Man and Spider-Man is awesome and transformers is a much shittier version. The mummy is cool. It's short, but it's like an indoor roller coaster but a bunch of mummies jump out and scare you and it has pyrotechnic effects so that was fun. I'll do that again. Transformers I may or may not ever do again and either way I'm fine with that.

I don't know if I have described velocicoaster properly.

Do you guys ever enjoy feeling nervous before you do something, but you know that what you're about to do is definitely not worth your nervous feelings?

I've done velocicoaster probably 10-15 times now somewhere in that area. And every time I'm waiting in line I get a little bit nervous. That never happens with any other ride ever.

I don't get nervous going on a Southwest flight. I don't get nervous driving 85 on the highway, but all of those things have an inherent and more real element of danger.

Space mountain doesn't make me feel nervous when I'm waiting in line when I'm on the ride and it's pitch black and there's a sudden dip. It's like a little feeling of excitement but it's not nervous. Same with splash mountain. Same with the hulk roller coaster at Universal.... There are individual elements of those coasters that make me feel excited, but I'm never nervous like for my survival.... I know I sound like a pussy there but fuck you all. I'm trying to describe shit.

I know nothing bad is going to happen on velocicoaster but when I'm waiting in line I get nervous every time and it's fucking fun like so much fun, that feeling. While I know nothing bad is going to happen. I also know I'm going to have that feeling of being lifted up out of my seat and being fully upside down and just doing it for fun.... It makes me feel kind of stupid like taking that risk just for fun.

But it's not like skydiving or bungee jumping. I mean nobody ever dies on roller coasters..... And yes, I know you could all name a few people who have died on roller coasters but at Universal and Disney....the odds are probably worse than winning the Powerball.

Yet I still get fucking nervous when those four or five sections of the track are right in front of me on this speeding coaster car and my Dutch ass knows it's less than half a second away from being lifted out ofmy seat, totally upside down, at 60+ mph and the top of my thighs are hitting against that bar and that is all that is keeping me from dying a rather painful death.

That's what makes it so much goddamn fun and that's what makes it worth a 3-hour drive to wait in line for 20 minutes to do a 3.5-minute ride.

It's controlled nervous fear. That's what makes it fucking fun.

The track goes right through the hotel. And there's an emotional symbolism to the venue. The race (the finale) begins just before sunset. And as the sun sets, the hotel slowly begins to glow with color, representing the sun setting on another season.
