Way back in my freshman year of high school, I had an English teacher who told us to never start a sentence with "In my opinion" or "I think that". He said "You're the one speaking, of course it's what you think".For some reason, the above reminded me of one.
Before stating an opinion, starting the sentence with "To me".
Example : "To me, their defense isn't strong enough for a winning season."
Yes...we know "to you". You're the person saying the thing. It's implied.
Example : "To me, their defense isn't strong enough for a winning season."
In rap, it's "you know what I'm saying?" Or more accurately, "naaah'm sayin'?"I agree with Rat on this, you know what I mean?
I don't see a problem, but that company is notorious at sending non-stop junk mail that looks like some local guy scribbled out a handwritten quote. Until you see that the postmark is Minneapolis. Also, I don't have much need for replacement windows. All right, class, who can tell me what is wrong with this ad I got in today's mail?
"RENEWAL BY ANDERSEN
Full Service Window & Door Replacement
Windows & doors
Buy one, get one 40% off
Minimum purchase of 4"
I understand that buy 1 get 1 ... usually means you buy 2 to get the deal. But in this case, you must buy 4 to get the deal. So 2 are full price, and 2 are 40% off.The postmark on this ad is Rochester MN. If it's really "Buy one, get one 40% off," I wouldn't have to buy four. And yes, the ad uses a computer-printed font that is supposed to look as though somebody wrote it by hand. I don't think anyone is fooled. I know I'm not.
They're sketchy all-around. Our whole house is Andersen 400 series windows and sliders, but it's the real thing. The "renewal by Andersen" is a replacement window, which is a whole different product. And probably a separate company.Or buy four to get one at 40% off? If I was an attorney, I could argue that "Buy one, get one 40% off" means that if you buy one window, that is the window that is 40% off and therefore it is not necessary to buy three more windows. Oh, and looky here:
Renewal by Andersen reported for making deceptive 'Made in USA' claims
