Coolio's biggest hit was Gangsta's Paradise, a number-one hit in 1995 which featured L.V. and won a Grammy award for best rap solo.. Weird Al Yankovic got permission from Tommy Boy Records to do a parody called Amish Paradise but Coolio himself objected. After getting royalty checks from sales of the song, Coolio acknowledged he was stupid to oppose the parody – and he said it was funny.

He sure did! Can't seem to find it now but years ago I saw a clip where Weird Al said Coolio was originally quoted as saying, "He betta watch his back" and was actually a little nervous.

But when the checks started rolling in for the parody, Coolio was suddenly cool-ee-yo with it
