A minute or so later in the recording, I do a very high pitched voice (pretending to be finding a signal to communicate with 'the commander'). I could still do that at 14. It definitely freaked my friends out. I was a very late bloomer.
 
This is hilarious! I saw this commercial during the game yesterday, and everyone is going nuts online about how stupid the song is. But none of them know where it came from (I do).

If I had seen the ad without seeing your post first, I would've had a lingering "that sounds like something else" feel. But I wouldn't have been able to place it. I think I've heard that original 2 or 3 times in my life, not recently enough to have remembered it from just the commercial.

Down the road from my work, there's a combination KFC and Taco Bell. I order the KFC famous bowl.

anyway I'm watching it on Hulu with ads. I've had 2 different dishwasher detergent ads. Who has a dishwasher soap brand? I buy whatever I see first in the aisle. None of them make any difference. I throw gross caked on shit into that dishwasher....hit the "heavy load"......hehehehehe I have a heavy load......button and it all comes out clean.

Cascade and Finish can both go fuck themselves.

Here is a classic commercial. In 1956, NBC News commentator John Cameron Swayze became a spokesman for Timex watches. He did several live commercials showing that a Timex watch strapped to a running outboard motor would live up to its slogan, "Takes a licking and keeps on ticking" – but one time the watch came loose and he couldn't see it. He recovered nicely though.

 
Actor, stand-up comic and MADtv cast member Orlando Jones was a spokesman for 7-Up from 1999 to 2002. Here is a commercial from 1999. Many school students got in trouble for wearing these T-shirts.

I think dishwasher soap is like everything else. You can get a regular one, and it works okay, but glasses come out with spots and streaks. The better ones are, umm, better. And then there's ones that won't destroy your septic system quite as fast.
 
All I know is

1. With our new dishwasher, we had to move from powder to liquid.

2. My mother-in-law used to say 'Calgon take me away' every other time I visited the house for the first 15 years I knew my girlfriend-then-wife.

If you put non-dishwasher soap in a dishwasher it will flood the kitchen with bubbles. My batshit crazy cousin did that to my dad. She was trying to help and put dish soap (the ones you use to do dishes manually) in the dishwasher for soap. Made quite the mess. She is no longer welcome to visit.
