The state bought a lot of property. They did tear down a lot of business, some nice homes in Ahwatukee, including the church in the music video below. The church rewrote some lyrics in "Uptown Funk" and created ADOT Funk.

We should be getting the occupancy permit this week. The LED-tape lights on the beams are done
The steel-cable railings are finished
And one zone of the radiant heating system is running
It's actually fascinating to watch the thing run, it cycles the water temp based on outside temp and thermostat setting.

The kitchen installation is almost complete, the cooktop will be installed by the heating crew.

That is gorgeous Scotch! The ceiling looks amazing, the kitchen modern and I get such a kick out of the fireplace. The brickwork around it came out looking so nice.

Thanks. I think I posted a while back about the fireplace. It was supposed to be gas on one side, with a wood stove sitting on a hearth on the other. They decided the clearance wouldn't meet code. We debated options, and everyone argued against burning wood. We ended up with the see-through, double-sided gas fireplace, which we're really happy with.That is gorgeous Scotch! The ceiling looks amazing, the kitchen modern and I get such a kick out of the fireplace. The brickwork around it came out looking so nice.

We have remotes for the fireplace and fans, plus the fireplace is on a thermostat. I'll soon have a pile of confusing remotes.

Today we got our occupancy permit, so we're moving in! Most of the contract work on the house is done:
The kitchen just needs the track lighting and more work on the backsplash
The condensers have been installed for the auxiliary heat pump system
And we have a wooded view from the 3-season porch

Took 4 days and 2 U-Hauls to move. Moving sucks. And then everything was still in boxes in the garage or basement.
We're starting to settle-in, and we achieved use of the garage, which was major progress.
