I sense some underlying passive-aggressiveness there. As in
- I don't celebrate every stupid "special day"; or
- I don't acknowledge holidays that act as an excuse to get stupid-drunk; or
- I'm not Irish, so I see no point in recognizing the day; or
- People in the US shouldn't even celebrate St. Patrick's Day; or
- There are more important issues in the world than whether I'm wearing something green; or
- I have a beef against Irish people, so I would never celebrate.
Sorry, no passive aggressive underlying tone intended. It was simply an ordinary day. Sometimes I wear green but I didn't yesterday. Not many people at work did. By the end of the day I was thinking, "oh yea, wasn't it St Patty's Day? eh.."
Oh, and I do have Irish in my genes. My father's side is England/Ireland.
Not quite St. Patrick's but I did get to try the Mint Green Shake at Culvers. I had a free coupon. They sell all the time. Made with frozen custard.
I did try one of their Concrete Mixers last year, that was a cross between solid custard and a shake. Otherwise, that was my first experience with a Culvers shake.
This is not a political post. I was scrolling through Facebook, and my feed showed a clip of a White House news conference. I'm not even clear on who it is, but they were answering press questions about gas prices and the Middle East. The clip has this automatic transcription that pops up, and I believe he was talking about the Strait of Hormuz when I took this screenshot.
George Jones had a #2 country hit in November 1983 with Tennessee Whiskey. I wonder if he ever stayed at the Harpeth Hotel – and asked for free samples.
This Tennessee hotel's Whiskey Keep has 250 of the world's best bottles
