It's faux Italian street food. It's basically the Italian version of Chipotle.
I got the deep fried calamari wrap with "diavlo" sauce.
They do pasta too.

For a fast food thing, it isn't a bad departure from the typical chains.

These people who write holier than thou reviews about big chains would probably be way more forgiving if they thought it came from some local food truck.

I wouldn't try one and the only good fusion item on the Taco Bell menu are the Doritos tacos, specially the cool ranch.

Maybe that's because they spend billions advertising shitty food that looks nothing like the ads. Any local Mexican restaurant or food truck on any street corner of any town is better than Taco Bell. I really don't understand the fascination we have with fast food chains.

Maybe fast food chains are easy access then food trucks and local restaurants.

At my last job, I had fast food chains near by and we even had food truck come onto the property twice a day. But after a while my old bitchy as boss, told us we were not allowed to bring food to our desk as other departments were allowed which doesn't make sense. We weren't been making a mess or anything. But how convent, it was ok for her and the managers to eat at there desk. But we still fought it and still ate at our desks.

But now at my new job, fast food chains are a bit further and we have a local cafe inside. The food is alright, but it does taste better then most fast food companies.

Bingo! They are so fascinating because it's neat to know I can go anywhere in the country and get the same 89 cent taco at 2 am. I'm not arguing that they have quality food, I'm saying it's tasty junk food and they are not as awful as many make them out to be.

Seems obvious to me. Fat, sugar and salt used to be scarce but optimal nutrition, so we evolved appetites for those which would drive us to acquire them. Our appetites remain long after the scarcity problem has been solved. The damage from over consumption doesn't stop most of us from reproducing, so there's no selection pressure against them.

Agree, but that doesn't explain why Americans are so fascinated with the stuff they crank out.

This completely alludes me. You can get most things from anywhere in the country, and it's all the same. Why does this stand out? If it was extraordinarily good, I'd see the value in that. But it's not.
