'Think you're having a bad day?': Window washers' rigging sways wildly, hundreds of feet in the air
View attachment 10309

That happened in Denver a few years back, the workers quit soon after.

That's just what I was thinking. It's weird how that happens to window washers more often than I would think normal. It's the same thing with cranes. Every year or 18 months or something. It seems like we see a video of a crane falling over or that shit happening to window washers. Maybe not the exact same thing but something similar.

Seeing how this is in the architecture thread, I imagine it all boils down to some German heritage pencil pusher in Toledo fucking up somehow and it having a butterfly effect to window washers in New York.

Toledo architects can only hope to design something as perfect as that home maybe once in their entire career if they're lucky.

And I'm not talking about hectic we were already jabbing at each other earlier today in different threads. I'm clearly talking about other Toledo architects.

Leave the innocent out of our silly escapades.

Hahahah oh shit! Why would you delete posts about the gentleman architect we all wake up thinking about and go to bed wondering about?

I guess there's only room for us to talk about one Toledo architect here on DRC.

The minute Toledo's version of Frank Lloyd Wright gets brought up someone can't take it and starts wielding their mod power with the precision of a rhinoceros.

Welcome to today's episode of One Extreme To The Other. We've seen the 604-square-foot home in Brookline, Massachusetts. Here is the world's largest home, the 178,926-square-foot Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina. It was built for George Washington Vanderbilt II between 1889 and 1895.

Why would you delete posts
Because it’s a small community. Most of us know each other, and if someone googles one of the firms listed, I don’t want people finding our stupidity when they are looking for a company to help them. I’m not going to let this silliness affect someone else’s business.

Don’t drag anyone else into this, especially by name.

The crazy couple with the 3 pages of dog-care instructions was supposed to stay there last year, but it was underwater from the storms they had up the east coast. Hurricane Helene

I just ran with it once it happened.

Do you actually know that guy?

Because the joke I was going for was obviously all about hyping some random person that no one's ever heard of before.

Also, you can make as many logical and very understandable arguments as to why talking about random Toledo architects by name is probably a bad idea and I will agree with you.... However, it has nothing to do with our silliness...way to spin it that way instead of admitting you're jealous of that guy and his god-given architectural talent.

I know a lot of the people in the business, and have friends at several of the offices.
When architects get together for seminars and whatnot, there tends to be drinking involved.

When architects get together

This is the setup to endless punchlines.

When architects get together.......Their wives have a few hours to let the landscaper show them the fulfillment of something larger than a drafting pencil.

That's just my first draft. It wasn't my best. I will do a lot better. Thinking of these is my life now. Thank you Hectic. I will never be bored at work again.

Pool-boy.....

When architects get together.......They always talk about giving their pool boy a level so he can make sure the pH is balanced.

See? Not all of them have to be blue.

I'm telling you I can literally go with this for probably for 3 months before I get bored.

When architects get together......They are finally around others who reinforce their delusion that it was the right choice to not become an engineer.

That one was kind of mean. I am aware I live and work in a storage unit more or less. So I'm also jealous of engineers.

When architects get together........ They commiserate about how Imhotep using a plum bob 4,500 years ago will put them to shame no matter what they do with their lives.

I've done a lot of Egypt pyramid reading lately so I knew about Imhotep but I had to Google his tools. I had no fucking idea a plumb bob existed but apparently it's a primitive level.

When architects get together....... They don't play hide and seek. They play hide structural supports.

That one works right Hectic? The mean ones are so much easier.

When architects get together..... Fire and EMS are always on standby. Because the concepts are sick and the schematics are fire.

There's a nice one. Those are way less fun though.
