IdRatherBeSkiing's Top 20 (Sunday, June 21st, 2020 version)

[IdRatherBeSkiing]

Here is the 1990 version of MNF theme. Difference is superbowl promo for ABC.

[IdRatherBeSkiing]

Pretty Fly (For a White Guy) - The Offspring
This one is an omission from my library. In the form of not realizing I had never bought it.

Listening to the radio tonight, I heard "Rock of Ages". The opening sounded familiar.

[sadchild]

10. You Decorated My Life
9. Lady
8. Love Will Turn You Around
7. Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town
6. Ruben James (Reuben James)
5. Islands In the Stream (with Dolly Parton)
4. Lucille ****
3. Coward of the County ****
2. She Believes in Me ****
1. The Gambler ***** (#68 on my 437)

I like 1,2,3 & 8. I don't go out of my way to listen to them because I don't go out of my way for the genre. But thanks to SMX I've rediscovered 2,3 & 8 in the last decade - not having heard them since the early 80s.

Today's ****

Bang a Gong (Get It On) - T-Rex

Because the Night - Patti Smith Group

Sweet Jane - Cowboy Junkies

Take Me Home, Country Roads - Home Free

Let Me Be There - Olivia Newton-John

[HecticArt]

Sweet Jane - Cowboy Junkies

This is a great, and underrated song.

[sadchild]

4 classics, then an unexpected genre by ONJ. Didn't know she dabbled in country.

The Take Me Home is not the original which is a classic. This is by a group of accapella singers which remake a whole bunch of pop songs. Pretty good. Worth a couple of hours of youtubing.

[IdRatherBeSkiing]

Today's **** are from 2 artists.

Yoda - "Weird Al" Yankovic

Canadian Idiot - "Weird Al" Yankovic

The Saga Begins - "Weird Al" Yankovic

The Rockafeller Skank - Fatboy Slim

Praise You - Fatboy Slim

[HecticArt]

Good stuff all around.

[IdRatherBeSkiing]

Today's ****

Sugar, Sugar - The Archies

Starman - David Bowie

Heros - David Bowie

Teenland - The Northern Pikes

Cary - Joni Mitchell

[Aaron]

Great songs. That whole album by Joni is brilliant.

Cary - Joni Mitchell

First time hearing these. "Cary" is reminding me of "Help Me", which I probably haven't heard since the early 80s.

Thanx for the tip. I will go back and have a listen (via sample) on iTunes.

[IdRatherBeSkiing]

Today's **** This is the final 4 on my list.

This River Is Wild - The Killers

Runaways - The Killers

She Believes in Me - Kenny Rogers

What the Hell I Got - Michel Pagliaro

[Aaron]

Oh oh no more IRBS lists?

Oh oh no more IRBS lists?

Unless I can think of another way to list my music.

I can get back to compiling my 437, sadchild's 333 and Jon's 200.

[Aaron]

Throw my 50 in there.

We need to see lists from Hectic and Channel98

Do you have an ordered list? If you do I will give you my e-mail and you can mail it to me. If not, order them then send them to me.

[Aaron]

I really don't. I just have the random favorite 50 songs. Not necessary to include though.

It's easier to include if it is ordered. I am not sure how to score 50 equal songs.
