MLB 2026 Season including Playoffs

Since Kroenke already owns almost every sports team in Denver, here’s his next acquisition: the Los Angeles Angels of Denver, the new baseball team replacing the Rockies. There’s already been talk about the Angels moving somewhere else in the L.A. area, like Long Beach or Inglewood.

Unless the stadium lease is renegotiated, the Angels have to stay in Anaheim through December 31, 2032. The team has options on two more three-year extensions that could keep them in Anaheim through 2038.

Third National Bank and Fifth National Bank merged in 1908 to become Fifth Third Bank of Cincinnati. Fifth Third Bank acquired Comerica Bank in 2026 and rebranded its 293 branches. There are now more than 1300 Fifth Third Banks in 15 states. Fifth Third is a dumb name for a bank – and now it is also a dumb name for a ballpark.

Tigers' home ballpark renamed to Fifth Third Park

DETROIT -- Comerica Park has had several alternate identities since it became the Tigers’ home in 2000. Some have called it Comerica National Park for its spacious dimensions. Some fans simply came to call it Comerica, or abbreviated it to CoPa, as they grew comfortable with it over the years.

Today was our last game. We had hoped the game would mean something. It did not. Jays were eliminated last Wednesday. But it was a fun game. George Springer got a standing O his first at bat and when they pulled him after his hit in the second. Max Sherzer pitched on 3 days rest and thew over 7 innings - 114 pitches. He gave up only 1 run and struck out 7. I think that leaves him tied with Velander or 1 below for lifetime Ks. He got standing ovation when he came out and when he was pulled. When Schnieder came out in the 7th he was booed.

Overall a good game. Done with baseball now. Don't want to watch the Lo$ Angele$ Dodger$ win another World Series.

Here is a chart showing how the number of teams and number of games played has changed over the years. In 1877-78, there were only six teams. Each team played 12 games against each of the other teams, for a total of 60 games.

From 1876 through 1968, the pennant was awarded to the first-place team in each league, National and American. That changed in 1969 when each league was split into an East division and a West division. In 1946, the Dodgers and Cardinals finished the season tied for first place. They played the first-ever, best-of-three tiebreaker series to determine who would win the NL pennant.

IRBS will be glad to know the Cardinals beat the Dodgers and went on to win the World Series against the Red Sox.
