Those things are super cool and super creepy at the same time.
At $205,000 they are less expensive than I expected. I can picture the cost being under $100k in the next 10 or 12 years or so.

They've been at most of the robotics competitions I've been to over the last couple years.

Here's 3 of them balancing on a platform (it tips back and forth to let robots onto it, then you have to get it balanced)

The orange team is the team my son joined, but he was behind the scenes as a programmer so he's not in this photo.

Translation: "The people who signed this open letter aren't making a ton of money like the people who are ahead of us in AI technology. Stop the moneymakers' progress (so we can catch up and cash in too)."

Notice how Sam Altman (ChatGPT) and Bill Gates (using ChatGPT in Bing) have NOT signed it $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Glad I'm not the only one who calls bullshit on these assholes

"I am personally skeptical of some of the hype that is going into artificial intelligence," Munger said. "I think old-fashioned intelligence works pretty well."

Adding, "And color television? It won't last. Neither will these new fandangled portable telephones. Now get off my lawn!"

"Old musicians never die. They live on in AI." In 2020, OpenAI launched Jukebox, an artificial intelligence that can create songs and music in any style and any genre and even duplicate the sound of almost any artist. Some of the AI-created songs, such as "Elvis Presley" singing Eiffel 65's Blue (Da Ba Dee), are awful – but some are really good, such as the above video of "John Lennon" singing Space Oddity and "Freddie Mercury" singing Eye Of The Tiger.

Today I learned that the hologram of Michael Jackson was of only his head. It was digitally placed on the body of Earnest Anderson, a Michael Jackson tribute artist who has done more than 6,000 shows worldwide and has his own YouTube channel. Michael recorded Slave To The Rhythm in 1990 during sessions for his Dangerous album. The song was released on his posthumous album XScape in 2014. Unless there is video of Michael recording the song, I'm guessing the mouth we saw on the hologram was Anderson's mouth as he lip-synced the song.
