Zeromancer
Genre: electronic rock
Discovered: don't remember, "Send Me An Angel" cover
Other: Norway's NIN?
HIGH FIVE:
1. Send Me An Angel (Real Life cover)
2. Split Seconds
3. Something For The Pain
4. Houses Of Cards
5. Flagellation
That’s kinda a fun remake. It’s another one that would work well in a movie soundtrack. And, yep, very Norwegian.

Cleopatrick
Genre: heavy rock
Discovered: don't remember, "Hometown"
Other: When I found Royal Blood (thanks to BBC Sound Of 2014), I was elated! This is the type of music I really get into, and they were doing it so well. Their third album lost me (computer-programmed disco rock, they suddenly entered their "I Was Made For Lovin' You"/"Do Ya Think I'm Sexy"-era unfortunately), but right around the same time I heard "Hometown" from these guys and was able to quickly fill the void. Two kids from Canada destroying stages (and selling them out across the US and UK). Now my RB t-shirt sits folded in my drawer and my Cleo shirt gets plenty of wear.
HIGH FIVE:
1. Hometown
2. Youth
3. Daphne Did It
4. Good Grief
5. Victoria Park

I like it. I always thought they were more thrashy or something. I should check out some more of their stuff.

Kings X was always great. I haven’t heard any of Dug’s solo stuff before. Not too shabby. Another one I should listen to more of.

First Serve
Genre: hip hop
Discovered: already knew De La Soul
Other: Some sites (like Weak-ipedia) are calling this a De La Soul album. But when it was released, it was promoted as "De La Soul's Plug 1 & Plug 2 present... First Serve - Two-thirds of rap legends De La Soul have returned after a long absence on a new concept album which sees them performing in the alter egos of a young band aiming for the big time."
HIGH FIVE:
1. Must B The Music
2. Pushin Aside, Pushin Along
3. We Made It
4. The Work
5. Move Em In, Move Em Out

Dude
...and it seems that album will finally be available on streaming services now that the rights to it were bought by another company.

Discovered: don't remember, "White Noise"
Other: The #1 below is more pop-rock than the others, which are more standard rock.
HIGH FIVE:

2. White Noise
3. Heavy
4. Everything Is Alright
5. The Ongoing Speculation Into the Death Of Rock and Roll

Mammoth WVH
Genre: hard rock
Discovered: already knew Van Halen
Other: If there's one rock album everyone should listen to this year, it's this one. It is amazing from start to finish. His dad would be incredibly proud of him. I'm told he played every instrument and he sings each one too. Unreal.
HIGH FIVE:
1. Distance
2. Don't Back Down
3. You're To Blame
4. Mammoth
5. Feel

Pop Evil
Genre: heavy rock/radio metal
Discovered: don't remember, "100 in a 55"
Other: Heard "100 in a 55" back in 2008 and thought it sucked (still do, it's a Nickelback-wannabe song). But in 2013, "Deal With The Devil" made me start taking an interest in their other songs.
HIGH FIVE:
1. Deal With The Devil
2. Let The Chaos Reign
3. Set Me Free
4. Last Man Standing
5. Colors Bleed

The Glorious Sons song isn’t too bad.
The Lacuna doesn’t do much for me.
Wolf had turned out to be the musician you would have expected him to be, but I haven’t heard anything that really grabs me. He has to learn hook next. He can certainly pull it off. Props for pulling off an entire album on his own.
I like the Pop Evil I’ve heard so far.
