Songs from Chicago

Where were Danny, Terry and Walter during that fight?:)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My Chicago non single this week also from Chicago VII on side two. The three songs played back to back. You can hear the very end of "Italian From New York" then "Hanky Panky and Life Saver"

Even Leonid and Friends did a tribute (with a little Tommy James mixed in)

Just in case, I have added "Hollywood" from Chicago VI which was missing from the OP but will have a fresh new Chicago best non-single tomorrow for the new week

Bonus: alternative "Hollywood" lovely ladyhood Guitar ISO

Last week, I thought I saw it removed. I must have been reinstated for being a great Chicago fan.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This week,
The Chicago VII album cover with the nice dark gold/tinted yellow color and artistic sketches is endless with good stuff. Aaron mentioned he likes "Happy Man". "Italian From New York" is one of my favorite instrumentals.

"Mongonucleosis" written by James Pankow and chanted by James Pankow, Robert Lamm and Peter Cetera. Popular with college basketball bands in the late seventies/early eighties. Could be eligible for the Favorite Instrumentals thread too.

Bonus: Terry Kath has a nice favorite track in Chicago VII

Chicago 8 next week

This week is Chicago VIII. With the hit singles "Old Days" and one of many of Robert Lamm's political songs "Harry Truman". 1975.
Another nice album cover with the band's signature signature in green and the Cardinal in the background. May have symbolized the era of the Chicago Cardinals football team during Truman's presidency. or not.

For my non-single of the week, I chose the first song on the album "Any Way You Want" Peter Cetera sings some parts in high pitch

New category:
I've added the bands first Non Hit single: "Brand New Love Affair" Parts 1 & 2. Part 1 sung by Terry Kath and Part 2 sung by Peter Cetera.
This song only made it to #61. Some earlier songs became top 40 after re-release.

Bonus Video: From the Dick Clark New Years Eve Special hosted by Chicago. Robert Lamm's nostalgic "Harry Truman". Danny looks bored on the drums, Walter having fun with it and Terry is just flinging the sing along cue cards. I always like the song. Just showed Chicago's diversity as a group.

Chicago 9 next week

Chicago IX "Greatest Hits" had a fine collection of their top singles up to Chicago VII. Their last #1 album.
However, according to Wikipedia: the UK version contains the additions of "Never Been in Love Before" and a shortened 3:27 version of "I'm a Man". The Brazilian version has the addition of "Happy Man" and moves "25 or 6 to 4" to the end of Side 1. "Feelin' Stronger Every Day" and "(I've Been) Searchin' So Long" are omitted.

So technically, my favorite non-singles this week from Chicago IX
"Happy Man" lead by Peter Cetera from Chicago VII

and bonus
"Never Been in Love Before" another good one lead by Peter Cetera from Chicago VIII

I am thinking some of these slow songs by Peter Cetera that I heard in high school lead to my appreciation to softer tunes I started getting into in my 30's and Coffeehouse stuff today

Chicago 10 next week then I'll finish with Chicago 11 the following.
